Hooray, 40,000 Qantas points are in the Woolworths account. It was a real *^*^fight getting them but they were cheap and will cover a J flight from Darwin soon so I tip my hat to Dr Ralph for getting me onto it and for his persistent badgering and hectoring of them to honour their sales pitch. Thanks, Dr Ralph.

Awesome! Did you have 2 pet policies?

I only had one pet but got 40,000 so trying to work out if the home contents points were added at the same time, even though it’s too early.

PS you mean 40,000 WW points? I think 2000 WW points = 870 QF points, right?

I have also been paid out points for a policy I cancelled within the cooling off period and got a refund for.

Now that it is all said and done. Should we start the thread “how many cats did you insure”?

Between mine and Mrs SoftDraws account we have got more than 300k QFF points out of this

Jesus! I am seriously playing this game way too small!!

I only had 5 insured, got the stat dec letter, deleted it, and have awarded points for them all. I paid monthly upfront then stopped further payments.

100,000 Woolworths points come back to 46,000 QF points (roughly)

Was aiming to do 10 pets but got cold feet as issues began setting in as canvassed here

Massive thanks to Dr Ralph for bringing this up. Got over 100k of QF points through this. Seems like they’re coughing up 20k of woolworths points per member as compensation to me.

Just out of interest did anyone tried to claim points on the policies cancelled within cooling period?:p

Received points for 2 policies which is kind of what I originally expected. Will continue to pester them for more given what I have been told above.

Now being told I won’t get anything for policies cancelled prior to cooling off period. Made the point that I get told a different story every time I call and that it seems like I’m being lied to to fob me off.

Its clear they will do anything to avoid paying out here. In the phone call this morning alone: First told they are doing the points in batches and that’s why I only received pts for 2 policies. Asked when the next batch will be done. Then told all cancelled policies were prior to cooling off so won’t receive any more. Pointed out that this was wrong. Then told that I was wrong because policies being discussed had received a refund. Pointed out that these policies received a refund because there was a premium charged AFTER I had notified cancellation. Phone agent in a total fluster and said she would organise for her supervisor to call me back. Can’t see this happening and will likely be on the phone to them again on the way home from work.

Could someone post the email we need to cancel the policy please? I can't seem to find it. TIA

Cancelling the policy is interesting in of itself, for the second time Woolworths insurance has decided they will not honour my written request via email to cancel the policy and insist I call them back to "discuss further details".

Let's see whether a strongly worded email to the complaint team works or not.

I never encountered this issue in any of the policies I cancelled.

Strange, maybe I missed certain key words? I just mentioned to them that I want to cancel the policy and take this as the written notice required under the contract, and I provided my full name, address and policy number in the email.

I emailed them to cancel my policy and received a reply acknowleding it was cancelled and a week later had a premium deducted.
I rang and they had to play a recorded message of terms and conditions or similar and at the start of this recording it was stated cancellations were only accepted in writing, I would email them again pointing out as per their terms and conditions of how they will accept a cancellation.

I received a massive pile of letters in the mail yesterday - one for each policy cancelled. The fact that they waste money and paper sending a letter for each policy when a single letter for all policies would do is probably indicative of how the business is run - poorly!

I got the letters, plus an email plus an SMS.

I've had to ring for my policies as they didn't act on the email. I received an email confirmation of the conversation and that was it.

This is very hard work. My wife simply had an escalation to ensure it was closed.

Also had 2 missed calls this week. Left voice mails wanting to discuss why I had cancelled. Sorry to have missed the calls as I would like to have told them that I cancelled because of all of the lies that they told.
