OK - you and I will sort it out on Saturday

I darn near got whiplash from the speed you reacted!

Cool.

For those that have asked me about prepaying (to save bringing cash), I will send you some details tonight.

so you are going to join us on JQ1 and make sure we have a cheaper way to HSW.

As you well know, I have a seat booked, and will come along if it is possible for me to get to Sydney early enough to make it worthwhile.

Definetly attending the MEL component of the event :)

oz_mark - please send me your bank details. Alternatively I can give you $50 cash in about 37 mins :p

oz_mark do you take Amex?..........:p

If you could PM me your bank details/preferred payment method I'll send you some dosh through the magic of the interweb. (If you use Paypal I'll pay the fees if you know what they will be. I do not want to see you out of pocket.)

On that latter note can I suggest we get together to ensure munitalP does not finish up out of pocket again? The last two events have cost him to stage and it hardly seems fair.

IIRC taking the bridge also has a higher CityLink toll.

The short way is fine in times of non-peak traffic.

no the toll is already included if you used part of Citylink (it's a flat rate for the "north" part and the south or east part. it'll only be the extra distance traveled.

Not sure where you're getting your rates! Unless things have changed slightly, or I keep getting rather incompetent taxi drivers, but a ride from airport to HSW cost me at least $60 last time.

Heck, you can't get Brisbane CBD to BNE airport for less than $50 or so; if it's cheaper in Melbourne that's a riot...

What kind of cab drivers are you getting? :p My cab ride from BNE city to airport was $42 inc tunnel last week.

Okay, I was under the impression that the Bolte was considered "Southern" Link? Or is it the last exit before the "Southern" Link?

Maybe I am getting confused with the car prices rather than taxi prices

I'm still hoping to make it to the drinks (depends on family member who is in hospital), and will likely be "dragging" along a friend. If I come, where on earth do I go??? Have never been to HSW :p

From the city, head West along Flinders st; after passing Spencer St. you veer a little right and little left into Wurrundjeri way. Following along, keeping to the far left hand lane as you sweep around to the left and pass over the Yarra.

Follow the signs/chute to the"South Wharf Convention Centre" -

It's up past the small roundabout.

I got that bit, its the location of the drinks at the hotel that I'm a bit lost about. :D

Service is prepaid for 6. I think there's 5 confirmed, so 1 seat left at $15.

4th Floor Executive lounge ... non guests don't need a room key to get to the 4th floor, but would need intervention to access the lounge once there.

There will be a charge if you are not eligible to enter the exec lounge. I suggest those not eligible, make plans with someone who is ;)

Ah, and who might that be? Sounds like this might be more effort than its worth for me...

Ok, so I'm confirmed for dinner and JQ1 (Seat 29D) and I will be flying up to MEL at 0825 the same day on JQ 572
