14 Diamonds staying at the HSW...does not make upgrade chances look very good. Add me as another AFFer at the HSW...so now 15 of us there!

Didn't hurt my chances last year, and I'm not even Diamond :p

I'll be quite happy in my King Yarra Suite that I've booked and will be happy to bestow my Diamond upgrade on another poor, unfortunate soul  :p

As a mere gold I booked the king yarra suite so i could sleep in the room i wanted rather than hoping!
(not the same as princess's! Ive met Shrek and he's bigger than me!)

The owner / manager of Pure South has confirmed that if others are attending the restaurant for dinner, when making the booking, make sure you mention you are with the Big Group (in my name) and he has ensured me he will "look after" the extras.

Woo Hoo, only 113 sleeps to go!

Just a head's up. JQ35 is no longer operating on this day and Jetstar are reaccommodating pax on flights leaving at 1505 and 1410 which are leaving from Sydney DOMESTIC terminal. All is not lost as there is JQ1 leaving from Sydney International at 1300, arr Mel at 1430. I rang up to change to this flight but was told it was not possible and I had to choose either the 1505 or 1410 flight. Based on this thread (http://www.australianfrequentflyer....35-disappearing-october-43330.html#post683005), I insisted that I had booked and wanted to leave from the International terminal and politely but firmly suggested she check with a supervisor...I'm now on JQ1 leaving Sydney International at 1300 so will be enjoying breakfast and lunch in the Syd F lounge:mrgreen:. Might be an issue for those flying into Syd that day to connect to the now cancelled JQ35 at 1515:(

WTF????

Not happy Jan.

Flight changed to JQ1, didn't have to argue too much, I was very polite, but insistent ;)

That leaves me with about 2 hours in the F Lounge, looks like I'll have to skip lunch and make do with Eggs Benedict.

I just called QF, and asked for JQ1 instead of the domestic one they moved me to......

They called JQ - but apparently it has to wait till tomorrow now.

Is that what's going on? I checked my booking yesterday & there seemed to be a time change (5 mins earlier), but I could not successfully confirm the change.
Shall call the WP line tomorrow; thanks for the heads up!!

I just called JQ up and got it moved with a brief explanation - they put me on hold for a couple of minutes, and came back and told me that I was now on JQ1. No problem at all.

So it's the F Lounge breakfast for us - I don't mind that so much. It'll still be fun - and it gives me more time in MEL and it means we won't be rushing to get to the HSW for the Executive Drinks now!

Did you go through JQ or QF?

Phoned and moved to JQ1 as well; it seemed too easy, will wait for the confirmation. I wonder how many sales consultants are working at this hour.

Thanks for the heads up, kpc.

Yes, I just got through (20 minutes on hold) and the agent told me that my flight was shifted 5 minutes earlier. Then I inquired further about the flight. I was changed to JQ541, and I even had to make the agent check carefully that this leaves from SYD T2 (he still read it back as departing from SYD T1 - knowing more than the agent....).

My fare is a Starter Plus so technically I should've been able to change my flight anyway online (and for that matter, with only fare difference, which is nil anyway right now). Problem was that when I tried to check my booking online, there was some sort of glitch in the system for which the website told me I'd have to call Jetstar.

Anyway, I'm shifted to JQ1 now. Inbound to SYD is on QF8, which means less than 3 hours in the F lounge. Enough time to have some breakfast, or a light lunch from the all-day refreshments selection once they are made available at 11 am. I think S&P squid is on that list :D

At least we got plenty of downtime before the evening proceedings. Some of us need that after imbibing plenty of alcohol in the lounge. :D

For those still interested in flying, current prices are $49 for Starter; $17 for Plus pack ($66 for Starter Plus), then add on credit card charge as necessary. Damn well does better than my ~$92 I paid for Starter Plus. Half of me says I should "change" my flight and book a new one. The 'better' half of me says, "stuff it - it's only $26 - too much bother and additional risk".
