Within a day or so we should know how DR goes with the appeal against the his Melbourne penalty, looking forward to next Sunday.

Interesting that Haas will field a team next year, wonder if he will buy Caterham?

Marrussia has also been suggested as a possible team for him to buy as well, but either would depend on them being available for sale. Everything has it's price I guess so we will see but he can't afford to wait around too long for them to decide.

Be good for the sport to have an American team.

I would be surprised if Bernie gave anything away. ;)

Very true, but yes the licence allows Haas to start a team from scratch - the idea being there are 2 extra cars on the grid next year. However, should another team be available to buy it would fast track the setup of the new team significantly and he is not obliged to start from scratch.

I'm interested to see how he goes. He struggled for several years in NASCAR until he put the right people in place (i.e. effectively gave away half of his team ownership to someone who knows what they're doing on the competition side of things) and is now a major force. I can't imagine he will accept struggling for too many years in F1 as he is smart enough to realise that he is the business man rather than the experienced expert in the sport.

Ricciardo / Red Bull fuel hearing on tonight (Aus time).

Fingers crossed DR gets the points from Melbourne back.

Starting from scratch is a tall order. F1 is not like other catagories of racing, indeed since 1990 only three new teams have started from scratch and won a Grand Prix. Even the financial might of Toyota was not sufficient to win a race when they tried to start with a new team based in Cologne. Easier to buy an existing team. Red Bull was bought from Jaguar iwhich in turn was Jackie Stewart, and Force India was Jordan.

Announced 2 hours ago Stefano Domenicali has just resigned. Fallen on his sword because Ferraris recent poor performance.

Now looks like a 2 day hearing.

Unsurprisingly Mercedes came out and pointed the finger at RBR for not following the rules. MB have the most to lose of course if RBR get the points back.

Hopefully at least an answer tongiht (Aus time).

Just read Daniels appeal was unsuccessful. :(

As unfortunate as it is I'm sure many of us still have high hopes for him this year.

Here we go again, "Seb let him through". Sebs response, "tough luck".

Just surprised that Ric didn't pass Alo on the last lap. Would have been his luck to have that result overturned thanks to the premature flags
