Damn. Damn. Damn.

I pottered around the house this afternoon, and have just settled down with dinner. I thought I would double check to see what time tonight's Malaysian race starts ... Only to find it was this afternoon!

And looking at the results it was the race to watch.

Aaaaaagggghhhhh.
i feel your pain. I thought it started 2 hours later than it did too. Just have to console myself with a sharks win. Well done Daniel

the worst part was i'm normally there, this is the first year since 2010 I wasn't able to go. my mother has some health issues and so i'm in melb watching, and even worse had to watch it on OneHD, and not the full coverage on Fox. was worth trailing youtube this morning for the post race interviews too. worth it to watch Lewis being a big sook too. Well done Dan!

Thanks, I am enjoying it as we speak.

Edit: I am buying a PVR tomorrow so I can record the FTA races at the very least. Particularly the replays that finish at 2am!

Has your TV got the ability to record via USB/HD?

Don't forget that the Austin TX F1 race is on tonight, live on Fox, and presumably delayed broadcast on FTA TV.

I missed watching Japan but apparently it was a mind blowingly boring race (pretty much like this entire season). I guess I'll be one of the diminishing F1 audience either hoping for a double engine failure in the Mercedes cars or a good dose of rain to mix things up a bit.

I think 'tonight' is a bit of a stretch. ;) 0600 tomorrow AEST.

Oh well, I watched qualifying at 0500 this morning so I guess I can manage 0600 tomorrow.

Did similar, woke up at 0540 and watched Q3, nearly didn't when it woke up +1 with the blaring sound of F1 coming from the Ipad, quickly found some ear plugs for it :)

Will do the same tomorrow. Didn't realise the 0600 until you just mentioned. Can do that!

Cheers for the forum post eastwest101

Might be a slightly different race with RIC on different tyre strategy, but still looks like a Merc procession

Was promising early for RIC, but the VSC gave it all back to HAM/ROS.

ROS v HAM will be interesting to watch. Hopefully RIC will be there to take advantage of any mistakes as the season draws to a close.

Bit of a fizzer this morning.

I've been following FIA WEC this year and crazy that after 6 hours it's still interesting yet F1 can be a yawn fest 15 minutes in.

yes, mid field fights at the end were well worth watching. Mr KLN had to go to work earlier than me, so we watched the recorded version 12laps from the end last night, and it was so worth while re-watching. well at least Daniel is still running 3rd in the WDC, I can keep all my Redbull merchandise for next year still.

funnily enough, we have decided for the first time in 17 years to Not go to melb for 2017. ms KLN junior also said she was happy to stay home for the first time in years too. so to do something different we have booked corporate tix for Bathurst 12 hour in the first week of Feb. very worthwhile for the 3 days, and much cheaper with airbnb to stay at too.

still lamenting over not being able to do Malaysia F1 this year. first time I've missed in years. it's my only decent holiday. always able to book J Ret, Mr KLN stays Home (it's to F&*(*&&&& hot), but my mother's health was compromised and I had to do daughter/nursing duties instead. bring on the next 3 races!

have friends attending Mexico and AUH so am very jealous!!

Speaking of Malaysia...
Some questions around the events future next year despite a contract.

With the oil price down both the Govt and Petronas are struggling. Wouldnt be surprised to see the Merc sponsorship go as well...

KUALA LUMPUR: The fate of Formula One in the country will be decided by Thursday, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Razlan Ahmad Razali said.

Speaking to reporters today, Razlan said although SIC had a ‘watertight agreement’ with the license holders until 2018, a special meeting would be held with SIC’s major stakeholder, the Ministry of Finance, with regards to the future of the sporting event in Malaysia.
...

Razlan said that a temporary withdrawal from F1 could be beneficial for the country.
...

“I think the product (F1) is no longer exciting. It’s being dominated by one team,” he said.

I haven't done the MEL F1 for a while but am mega jealous of you going to the B12HR - That is going to be an absolutely epic race and really great to see Australia holding such top quality races.
