Hummel,
the B12H tix are quite reasonable.
w've booked corporate, a/c marquee, food and beverages for the 3 days and on top of the pits, and it's $ 765.00 each. too me, that's cheap, and managed to get an airbnb for $110.00 per night. drive from Sydney, ok that's easy for us.
the Ferrari club for members is offering $ 2,100.00 for club member for Melb F1, which is way cheaper than the normal corporate rates
i'm just sick of sitting in the grandstand/ Gold GP bar with the weather always terrible. we have watched most of the sessions from the GP bar the last few years, and have decided it was probably better to do it from home/Sydney.
and as a family it costs a fortune for accommodation in Melb for F1

That's actually quite reasonable. I would have thought $1200+ at least. I won't be able to make it as I'll only be just getting back from a big OS trip so time will be short. Will have to think about it for 2018!

OK Peeps, don't forget we are racing in Mexico this weekend. Fox Monday morning at 5am. also Motogp Malaysia on sunday afternoon. almost another tsunami of motorsport. F1 practice sessions during the day watching the replays, and then motogp. perfect!

I'll be in the air, halfway between MEL and DXB on QF9.

I have only heard two Sports reports on the PA when flying Qantas. That was on QF108 betwixt JFK and LAX when Efficient (IIRC) won the Melbourne Cup and on QF10 2 hours before SIN when St.Kilda and Collingwood drew...

Somehow I managed to watch the Japanese F1 qualifying on IFE between dubai and nairobi on emirates a few weeks ago

Hamilton pole, Rosberg second, Verstappen third & Ricciardo fourth (by 0.079s).

I'm going to PVR the race, if anyone is watching it let us know if it's worth watching or not. For the record a Mercedes P1 & P2 result means that the race gets deleted without viewing, if one or both Mercs are DNFs or not P1 and P2 then I'll watch it.

bum steer on start time. sorry! Formula1.com says 5am, i'm here now and Fox tells me 6am. glad I went to bed early

Looks like you won't be watching this one then!

Eastwest101, yes Lewis and Nico festival, but didn't see much of them really. it was an entertaining race to be honest. worth watching

Yeah, good finish and await the final outcome. I think he will be fine.

I have only come in during the last couple of laps (SA time - oops).

I didn't see the incident, but good to see the referees have made a decision quickly. For good or bad.

And a post race 10 sec penalty for Vettel pushing him down the order (I won't mention to where for those who haven't watched it)

"The video footage, including the close circuit footage, the broadcast vision, both drivers' onboard cameras plus the telemetry show there was an abnormal change in direction by car 5 (Vettel) and this was considered to be potentially dangerous in view of the proximity of the wheels of each car," read a statement.

"The video evidence clearly shows that car 3 (Ricciardo) had to take evasive action as a result."

He got his just desserts then!

I was told to watch the last part of the race, I was told those last few laps, the first lap and a couple of VES lunges were the only bits worth watching.

They really have to start handing out penalties very quickly now, as it seems that there is a perception that the rules go out the window in the last 10mins of racing because the investigations can happen post chequered flag. It all went wrong when HAM wasn't penalized for the first off track moment on the very first lap, as it seemed to a lot of people that the stewards weren't going to enforce the track limit rules. The stewards can consider themselves lucky that more drivers weren't taking liberties with the track limits.

I watched until the chequered flag, and then had to catch up with commotion when we got home tonite. enjoyed seeing Vettel running to the podium, and Max running out. am looking forward to watching the rest of the interviews and Ted's walk. just have to wait for mr KLN to fall asleep watching the football, and then I can continue. shouldn't be long now. hehehe. and yes, why does Lewis get away with it. will be interesting watching the rest of the interviews
