What a great race finish, how will it end......pity the seasons over no GP till March :(

Well done Nico.

Even the Hamilton fan club (aka the Sky Sports commentators) are struggling to defend him.

Edit:They are back to defending him. . . . .

Trouble is he put team HAM ahead of Team Mercedes. Despite clear instructions to the contrary. VET vs WEB anyone?
Of course he did! That's Hamilton, and frankly, every other driver would have done the same thing to win the championship. ot that I'm a fan of Hamilton but I thought it was bad form for the management to harass him and not to let them run the race as they wanted. Otherwise we may as well have drivers from the kindergarten. At least he didn't do a Vettel or Schumacher and 'accidentally' crash into someone just to win.

Was the most interesting race of the year, rather than the usual boring procession.

Great race to watch and happy with the outcome.

Good for Ros, a win for consistency, but he showed when necessary he had the speed and overtaking gusto (e.g. on Ves last night!).

I'm unclear - if Ham was "so slow" why didn't ROS have sufficient pace to catch him - he can't have been that slow even in the tight bits (and was clearly holding him off to keep him out of DRS leading into the straights).

And RB stuffed RIC by calling him in WAAAY to early for the first pitstop (unless there was a tyre issue).

Ah the problem for ROS was that Hamilton was very smart so he floored it in the straights to ensure ROS was not within DRS and could not overtake, then in the slower sections, where overtaking was not feasible, Hamilton slowed allowing others to catch up. Very crafty indeed, or sleezy depending on your POV.:)

I'm no HAM fan but I thought he summed it up well by saying that Mercedes had already won the constructors championship so it's none of their business to issue team orders to hurry HAM up, they are Team Mercedes, not Team Rosberg. Mercedes management won't punish Hamilton a lot because if they did and Hammy took it to court then Mercedes would have a rather uncomfortable time trying to justify their 'team orders'.

Funnily enough, if they had kept the 'double points' scoring system that was trialed and abandoned a few seasons ago we wouldn't have had such a weird but interesting race!

Yes, RB have had odd tyre strategies in the last few GPs.

i just thought they were trying something different to try and jump them somewhere.

great race, almost as good as Brazil after lap 31.

great to see Nico crowned! i'll always remember he's second race ever in F1. I had seen him in Melb, and then went to KL for Malaysia, and he's engine blew up on the mushroom/last corner. I was standing right on the handrail, and could smell smoke, could see him get out of the car, and he walked right around in front of me, he had tears in his eyes' he was so upset. I threw him a bottle of water, he was very grateful. if you know how hot it gets in KL you would understand what a commodity it was. I then had to go and buy one. hehehe

Looks like Hamilton is going to be 2017 World Champion unless Mercedes pays big money to break the contract of Vettel/Ricciardo/Verstappen/Alonso......
