Currently scheduled for a week in the UK in late March. A second trip will be on the cards for the second half of the year but probably won't firm up until closer to June/July.

My last two ventures to the UK have been on SQ since QF stopped operating. I really enjoyed the SQ experience so we'll see who ends up getting booked. Lowest Fare policy at my workplace.

Car rentals prices continue to be crazy. Somehow managed to book a reasonably priced car for our two weeks in Tassie through Sixt. What was <$1500 on Friday is today over $4000, for a Yaris!! They better honour the booking! Booked all accom yesterday morning, all fully refundable no more than 48 hours out.

is it cheaper to hire in Melbourne and catch the ferry over or is that not allowed

When is this for? I'm heading to Hobart in Feb but haven't booked car hire yet... will get onto it soon.

Feb 12 Lisa for 14 days. We booked on Friday night and it is $1422 for a Yaris all up with an extra driver. I missed that I could get a VW T-cross for another $100. Went in this morning to see if I could change and prices had literally gone through the roof - 4300 for every car they have except two utes. They were only 3000!! Maybe it’s a system glitch.

We’re happy with $1400 for 14 days. At $3000+ we’d get another camper and self cater

Gosh! Thanks for that info.

Japan July 1 - July 19. Fingers crossed.
Per - Bris - Tokyo. Tokyo - Syd - Per.
Able to get business class for 180 000 points.
At this stage Tokyo for a day, down to Kurashiki/Fukuyama for a day.
Couple of days to ride the shimanami kaido, couple of days in Matsuyama.
Bit of a detour to Nachi waterfall, back to Tokyo then up to Sendai way for the second week. Still nutting the second week out.

Still unsure whether we will get anywhere (even NZ), but hoping for 6 weeks of Med Islands, Corsica, Sardinia, Malta and Sicily late Aug/Sept.
Thinking same, but 2 weeks late June/early July, and another 2 weeks late Aug/early Sept, both to Europe. Lufthansa has awesome pricing for cash bookings, but still hesitant to pull the trigger. Within a couple of months COVID cases probably the same here v Europe, so risk the same!

All domestic travel but I shan't be home at all in March or April, only home for one week in May and not home all of June.
Except for a fortnight in October / November nothing planned for the second half of the year yet.

Wowzas! We just got back from Tassie and had a rav4 through Apex for 6 nights for $550!

Fiji booked for end of September for our wedding - then looking to Europe for the honeymoon March 2023 (crossing everything!).

scary rates although much less than Sixt are now quoting

In addition to our March/April visit to the UK, we are working up plans for a further visit in August 2022. This would include a 9 day cruise in the Baltic.

I'm not sure that my plan of a Northern Hemisphere White Christmas in 2022 is hopeful. 😥
