I had a bundle of credit with Intrepid and Peregrine from cancelled 2020 back-to-back trips to Romania-Moldova-Ukraine and Azerbaijan-Georgia-Armenia that I figure I have little chance of using before about 2024 at the earliest.

I decided to call them in for two domestic tours BNE-Fraser Island-Whitsundays-GBR etc., followed by Arnhem Land in May 2022. Start and end points are BNE-CNS and GOV-GOV, respectively. With one day between each tour, it's easy to fly CNS-GOV to start the second tour.

OK, I could do most of that under my own steam, but getting accommodation in the current domestic zoo in such places is likely to be a PITA. And I wanted to blow the credit.

I then decided to carry on, flying GOV-DRW and do The Ghan to ADL.

Then the decision was whether to fly PER-BNE to start the tours and ADL-PER to get home, or drive PER-BNE, store my vehicle with a mate (known to many on AFF ;)), do the tours and the train ride, then fly ADL-BNE to drive back to PER.

The drive option wins. :)

Just booked CDG-ANC (the long way around....), 920 TP (status credits) for £1040 for the start of 'cruise season' in Alaska. Happy with that! I'm sure Mrs FB will be too ;)

We are going to the UK for the celebration of our sons wedding in June 2022, that will legally happen next month, whatever it takes to get there. And I mean, whatever.

I'll save some space for you in my next sea container.

We have Kingscliff booked for January.
I'd love to say Hawaii for next year but don't like our chances. We have have a LE Maldives package that we can book if we're able to, otherwise we can get a full refund.

I might need a container to get over there with sons requests, including a new pair of Ugg boots.
Don't forget my Twisties ;)

Hawaii was an option on the fare I booked, by overnight seemed to drop off and fares were back around £4-10,000. I considered it last night but decided against anyway given accommodation etc. prices are sky high at the moment and likely will be for some time due to higher local (US-based) travel demand.

Alaska works well, always wanted to go there and a nice juicy bucket of TP's to go with it at just over $2/SC.

I haven't. 😊

My Nov 21 trip had officially been cancelled.
So booked another one somewhere 2022....if the vaccine thingy goes well that might happen???

361 days to my 1/7/2022 trip to either:

France for D Day Beaches and Loire Valley, or
Poland for WW2 sites and history, or

Still to decide.

I may still go if 7 days home quarantine, but absolute deal breaker for 2 weeks Hotel Quarantine.
