2023 Hilton Status Retention

Strangely the app says I need 32 nights, 29 stays, OR 40,000 points to go to Gold. Does it mean any one of those 3 criteria will work? I’m waiting on a couple of night in a couple of rooms to be credited from this week and have 3 nights in 2 rooms at the Conrad Singapore coming up…
Yes, you only need to tick one criteria to retain/attain a status level.

Yeah my app now shows I’m dropping from Diamond to Silver in April - not Gold - as I only managed 9 nights in 2022 (though some of those bookings were multiple rooms). Thanks, travel restrictions.

Only one of them. But it’s 40,000 Base points. Not total points earned

EDIT: The App is wrong.
Qualification thresholds for 2023 have been reset to their normal levels.
Gold is 40 nights, 20 stays or 75K Base points.

I did not know you could fall from from Diamond to Silver in one go. I suspected I would not retain my status as I had 3 stays, 6 nights in total of which 4 were reward nights in 2022. I was demoted to gold.

In the past I think I remember dropping straight to blue. This year I am Diamond going down to Silver for 2023. I had 3 stays in 2022 totalling 9 nights.

Honors changed to "Hard Landings" maybe 10 years ago. There have been some COVID related Status Retention allowances for the last couple of year.

I dropped from Diamond to Silver at the end of Mar 2018 and had no plan to regain any Hilton status as I pursued Hyatt Diamond(/Globalist) (which has far more tangible benefits).

However, via a "We Miss You" targeted promotion offered to me late 2018 I attained Gold with two stays (one Dec 2018, one Jan 2019).
Yay! Free [Continental] breakfast!

That would have given me Gold (and the free [Continental] breakfast) until end of March 2021.

Then COVID hit and my gold from those two stays would have finally expired end of March 2023, if not for me I requalifying Gold with 14 stays last year. (Mainly $45 nights in Malaysia).

I have only been dropped to gold. Looks like I will be staying with ALL, IHG, or Discovery all of which I have platinum or equivalent status with.
To qualify Gold in 2022 you needed 14 stays or 28 nights. Not sure about base points.

Is anyone having an issue with rollover nights since the reset?

A quick google search suggests there are issues.
Speaking of, when did RNs apply to each level? Is that new(ish)?

I don’t recall ever getting any RNs after re-qualifying as poxy Silver (nor Gold).

I new I would fall one day but did not know it was a hard landing. I had been HH Diamond since around 2014 so almost at the 10 year mark for LTD however I do not think I have anywhere near enough nights or base points to hit the second milestone.
I’d probably value HH Gold over IHG Plat and maybe ALL Plat?
There will be travel this year where there are no ALL properties so the fall back will be HH. IHG was originally a match and I am not that taken with the program.

I am new to ALL and did have a Plus account when I had an AMEX but rarely used it. My current status was comped via the QF/ALL tie up back in Aug 22 and as a P1 we received Platinum status and everyone else gold. So far it has been quite good I have only stayed around 6 times at the various properties, have been upgraded a couple of times, there is lounge access if the property has one, free breakfast in the Asiapac region which covers most of my travels. I have also changed my ALL Limitless back to ALL Plus so that saves on food, drinks, a higher discount off the room rates and an extra free night per year. My most recent stay was at the Swissôtel in Sydney, I would have normally stayed at the Hilton but though I would give it a go. IMO it gave the Hilton a run for its money and only time will tell if I stay with the program.

OT, but the advantage of ALL is the large number of properties here/AsiaPac (and obviously in Europe). Until the DTs arrived, Hilton was only top dollar places.
I've been rolling over for at least 5 years, maybe more
Maybe I’ve been staggering from comp to Fastrack promos (plus Covid extensions) I’ve not needed nor noticed….

Did you actually exceed the requirements each year? You only rollover the balance.

After checking this thread I am back to 0 status, at least I am free to choose the best hotel.
Unless you have a comp VA status match in your back pocket?

There will of course be a Gold/Diamond Fastrack promo any day now….

Probably not for Gold and never when I had Diamond. Maybe Silver but it used to be pretty easy with four stays instead of X nights).

That was also a consideration when I decided to give ALL a try, we have trips this year to NZ, HBT, ICN or TPE (maybe both), KUL and SIN and then there are the works so I can probably retain ALL Platinum. That would line us up nicely for 2024 as we are planning to go to France, Korea and Japan.
