Yes, has online, but not bpay. Probably has better % interest rate than other daily operating accounts. Other than this small 28D inconvenience, at I can say I am in 2013. Everything else seems to work just fine w' various other accounts used.

As a follow up to putting cash on the card at the PO, 28D advised that you take a bar code from a statement and they PO scans it. It worked just fine at my little local PO.

Hi All,

Have just applied for the 28 Degree card and have read through the links provided on the first page of this thread - thanks for all the good info.
Just wanted to clarify (as over a 1000 posts is a little long to get through!) if there is any more summares beyond the pages linked in the first thread?

Thanks.

ps from what i have read - 28 degrees is good for foreign transacations, while citibank plus is good fee-less withdrawals of cash. Is that right? I think I will be applying for a citibank card too...

Generally speaking, that's the best way to do it. You can load the 28 Degrees card into credit and withdraw on that, but the Citibank option is better IMHO.

That's what I would recommend - works very nicely for me.

28 Degrees changes for OS cash advances - 3% or $4 (what ever is greater)

It's over..... for cash advances at least...... from 1 Jan, all cash advances are subject to a 3% or $4 fee, whatever is great.

Not sure if a withdrawal from an account in credit qualifies as a cash advance, will need to read the fine print on that one.

Sad day.... although I won't be greatly affected personally, as most of my transactions are for overseas purchases. I'll keep the card for now, but could be time to look at that Citibank option, I guess.....

Hmmmm... perhaps I should have continued to read the rest of the line.... covers a "cash advance or cash equivalent transaction".... I would assume that covers an account in credit.

Here is the body of the email:

This email is to inform you of changes to your 28 Degrees MasterCard.
 • A cash advance fee of 3% of the cash advance or $4 (whichever is greater) will be charged to the account on each occasion on which you obtain a cash advance or make a cash equivalent transaction (except that if the cash advance is made by a direct transfer to a bank account nominated by you, this fee will not exceed $30 for that transaction).

 • Clause 45 of the Conditions of Use and Credit Guide is amended by:

Adding the following to the definition of cash advance balance:

Yup you are correct: Credit Card Insurance | Shopper's Protection | 28 Degrees MasterCard
Doesn't affect me (and a few other AFFers:p) as I have been using the 28 degrees MC for foreign purchases only, and obtaining cash OS with the Citibank Debit card.

Re: 28° [Wizard] Mastercard Cash Advances while overseas

Good timing, just applied on saturday for the Citibank card...

YES I'd like to add my thanks to you guys for your contribs re 29Deg - I have indeed just applied for the Citiplus card - bummer as 28Deg was so easy.

Citibank is easier.

You also don't have to worry about loading your 28Deg to make sure it was in credit. You can use 28 Deg as designed, for purchases.

I just use Select o/s at 5pts/$ - only ever used 28Deg for cash withdrawal and always pre-loaded - never used 1c 28Deg credit.

Yes, $15 in the example you give which is a cash equivalent transaction.

Re: 28° [Wizard] Mastercard Cash Advances while overseas

Like some others was considering getting another 28D card so one could be pre-loaded with cash and the other used for credit purchases. But that ideas out the window. The Citibank credit card being referred to here... is that Citibank Plus? I have a normal Citibusiness Gold Visacard... I wouldn't be using that o/s.
