According to the Velocity Rewards website under the Earn - Utilities, Insurance and Finance section - looks like an ongoing offer.

ah ok, i see it, was looking under specials...

How far will 30k velocity points get you from Perth by the way???

Before they changed the C&P redemption, 6900 & ~$200 x2 was a return in Business from MEL to PER (via SYD). I think it may now be 13800 + ~$150 x 2 (but can't be certain).

Just to confirm..it will cost me an actual 198 over 12 months to get 30000points,
worth it or not
jc

I rang up to re-contract for the 30,000 points. The CSR was having trouble giving it to me and offered me $16 per month discount for the first 5 months. I said I'd rather have the points. I got them, and they posted before the new contract started.

Only you can decide the value of points to you. Personally, I value them at about 1 cent each, i.e. I won't use a credit card to get points if the surcharge is 1.5%. The recent "value" I have been receiving is around 10 cents each, "if" you value a J fare at $1237 (which I don't but it's still a good use of points).

Just got off the phone with Foxtel. After customer service refused to give me the Velocity Points as I was an existing customer (only just, made the last payment of my first 12 month contract earlier today!), I asked to be put through to disconnections where a more sensible bloke was only too happy to extend the offer if I re-contracted for another 12 months at a minimum of 45$/month for the basic package.

Took down the Velocity Membership Number, and the points should hit my account after the new contract kicks in.

New 12 month contract kicked in on the 1st of May, and the points were deposited to my account on the 2nd.

Can't complain.

No luck for me yet :(
My new contract started ( first bill) on 14th April. Three telephone calls to Foxtel and still no 30K points.
Have now submitted a missing points claim on Velocity.
Not happy :(

Just called them, and was on the phone for ages, getting transferred from pillar to post.

They acknowledge that they have honoured the offer before for existing customers, but the rules have changed now and they are no longer able to honour it. However, they still do it for new customers.

He was talking about other offers to me, but I had indicated that the points one was the only one that would justify the expense of Foxtel when I am spending most of my time flying for work. Still no go. :(

Anyone know if something has changed, or is it a matter of calling back and getting someone else?

I signed up for this deal less than two weeks ago with my points coming through late last week, three days after my new contract took affect. I was an existing customer that was on Telstra and had transferred back to Foxtel directly. The rep I spoke to had to speak to her supervisor to check she could sign me up on the deal but it wasn't a problem. I'd give it another go if I were you.

Signed up for this a few week ago. Points yet to post. Have lodged missing points claim via virgin web form and with foxtel call centre. Anything else I can or should do to make sure these post correctly?

I signed up to foxtel 2 months ago. Can I still claim my VFF points? :) Just put in a claim for missing points on the Velocity website, see how we go...

The 30k points just posted today, thanks Rupert Murdoch. K3nnis, I'm not sure how you'll go with this as when I signed up I could either have a twelve dollar a month discount (default option) OR the points which I had to specifically request. Worth a try though in my opinion.

Thanks for the info. I submitted a missing miles claim form. See how I go I suppose...

I have an existing (2 year) service and am out of contract.

I called earlier this month and asked along the lines of "If I agreed to recontract for another twelve months, could I do it in line with this deal and earn the 30,000 points.".

To cut to the chase, skipping the details of the 25 minute 'phone call, my re-contract will commence on the monthly billing date later this month and the points should post within ten business days of that.

It only took three days after the monthly date for the 30k to post.:D

Posted on a wing and a prayer ...

Interesting that this worked for you, I spoke to various people who wouldn't let me get the points this way, no matter how hard I tried.

Granted this was about a year ago now, I wonder if they changed their mind after all, people could just as easily cancel, and re-sign up for the same cost, and they have to send a technician out to set up the new service and also pay for a satchel/postage of the old equipment to be returned to them
