I have put the sim in my iPhone and it's good to see that Vodafone are as useless as ever around here. In my study the signal varies between no service and 4 bars of 3G. On the back verandah I can get 1-2 bars of 4G but not enough data to run a speed test.

For those coming to this late like me...I just tried it and the $99 phone Vodaphone Smart E9 phone is not in stock currently. The cheapest phone is now $379. So unless you need a new phone deal may not currently add up.

Did anyone get a blank $0 invoice from Vodafone?

I submitted points claim Xmas Eve and still no points. Today I got a $0 standard business looking invoice (i.e. not a phone bill looking invoice).

My first invoice/phone bill showed a $16.75 credit a few days after I received the phone/activation.

When claiming the points is there any difference to putting in a Qantas Frequent Flyer (personal customers) or Qantas Business Rewards (business customers) membership?

As @serfty says, this is a Qantas Frequent Flyer promotion, so stick with that. You would need to examine what Qantas Business Rewards was also offering as a deal to make a call on which promotion was better. Chances are it's not as good though.

My thoughts but as it was offered I thought I'd ask in case someone had been down that path.

Just cancelled my service in first month and will only be charged the $99 handset fee. Admittedly I only got 20k points because I signed up for the wrong plan but 20k points + a spare phone for a total of $99 is not bad.

Just joined the cancellation club as well for myself and wife.

Received a bit of hard sell from the vodafone rep but nothing unmanageable.

It really amazes me how many people can't interpret a basic contract they sign. I suggest you look again at your plan and look at the 'Minimum Cost' stipulation in big letters.

It really amazes me how many people spout off with smart cough posts like this on the internet and then disappear when it turns out they have no idea what they are talking about. I suggest you call Vodafone to receive the same confirmation of my interpretation that many others have received. Or you can just wait until month 3 to cancel and donate $80.;)

Cancelled both our contracts and paid out phones today. Pretty straightforward and CS rep asked why I was cancelling, so gave a creative answer. Easy!

Yeah. A simple "glad I was wrong and great it worked out well for you guys" would have been nice.

Has anyone that claimed points after xmas eve actually received them yet?

I'm thinking of lodging another claim - maybe i did it wrong.

When I lodged I received a confirmation email that included the following

Thanks for submitting your details to apply for Qantas Points. If your application is approved, the Points should appear on your Qantas activity statement within 30 days.

We’ll send you a TXT to let you know when this is complete or if we need any other information.

So I'd hold off for 30 days based on that.
