I'm always forgetting to go via Cashrewards for eBay. You can some great cash bonuses that way. It all adds up.... :)
I believe cash rewards for eBay Australia has been suspended - I checked yesterday evening :)

Yes. Made a purchase on Saturday and saw the following:

'Cashback is currently unavailable for purchases made on eBay Australia.'

Well JohnK, sign up for the 12 month, not the 24 or 36. We'll either be back here in a month saying "Yes, we scored!!!", or crying "what have we done?".

I missed eBay appearing on cashrewards but it does seem to me that there's a pretty significant opportunity for arbitrage there in that you could probably buy a ton of cash equivalent items and get cashback on them, unless this was specifically excluded?

But on topic, I think it's fair to say that there is a less than zero risk associated with this approach, especially when Vodafone notice all of these orders coming in and start to institute some damage control measures?

As soon as it gets blocked if not already.
Why?

Vodafone don't know that a heap of people might cancel after a couple of months.

I thought there might be a scheduled finish date like there is for credit card offers.

Signed up wife and I, see if we both get approved.

Too good a deal not to grab with both hands

Maybe not, but that $99 throwaway phone becoming a best seller overnight in response to a marketing campaign is gonna tip a few accountants off

I'm still not convinced how people are going to break out of 12 month contract. If it were that easy everyone would sign up with whoever was offering 1 or 2 months free and keep changing providers.

The 40,000 points is not worth me paying another $800 to get out of 12 month contract.

My understanding of the T&C’s is that you only have to pay the handset out. As it’s a month to month plan there are no cancellation fees.

Any issues doing this if you're already a Vodafone customer?

Turns out to be advantageous. Since already on a post post paid plan there was no need for a credit check :)

The plan's critical information summary confirms the plan has a minimum duration of 1 month and no early exit fees.

The phone on the other hand will need to be paid out, luckily just a $99 phone.

According to my reading the only risk is to the investment of $74 / $99 (if points don't post or vodafone weasels out) which I can live with.

I'm currently overseas. Anyone know when this offer ends?
There are 2 different offer end dates as follows...
- Get your first two months plan fees on us when you sign up to this plan. Offer ends 20/12/18. T&C apply.
- Get a total of 40,000 Qantas Points when you sign up to this plan online – that’s 10,000 included Points and 30,000 bonus Qantas Points. Offer ends 02/01/19. T&C apply.

Anyone else having issues with getting the $25 credit pop-up to trigger?

Probably too late to mention now but I had issues too, I think I opened a new tab/invoked mission control on my mac and suddenly it popped up.

Am I reading too much into it?

It's good to read things properly before making a commitment like this. As already noted though, it's a month-to-month (essentially pre-paid) offer, not a plan (post-paid), thus you can cancel at any time with the minimum cost being 1 month + the handset. I think the interesting thing is going to be how long the points take to post. It also helps that there is a concurrent offer of 2 months free running, so even if the points are late the first month fees should only be for the handset.

Anyone know when this offer ends?

This has probably already been answered, but the offer runs till 02/01/19. I do think however, as @serfty points out, it will be cancelled early.

You're right that it's a month to month contract so can cancel.

However, what most have missed is that their calculation is based on getting the first 2 months free. However, the terms of this offer say that it only applies if you do not cancel. While the poster then checked with a 10 month scenario - close to the 12 month handset term anyway - that's vastly different from cancelling 2 months in not having paid anything at all for the usage - and the points. I'd expect Vodafone to apply their terms there and not give the 2 months free if you cancel in two months i.e. the plan cost would then be $160 + 74, so $234 for the two months and 40k points.

This is all stated in their terms so not something that can be disputed either. Some may get lucky - but then with the hordes that have applied for this, that's also less likely given the cost of having to give this out to so many.
