Between AFF and OzBargain I would say they've seen record interest in a very ordinary phone ;)

I suspect if they were smart about it, the re-availability of these phones would coincide with the ending of this promotion, but let's see.

There’s another cheap phone that adds just under $50 to the cost. Will look at that for MrsNoName if the other one doesn’t come back in stock.

Ordered yesterday morning and the phone (the cheapest one) was delivered this morning. Pretty sluggish phone but I need a spare so should do the trick! Now to see how the points v costs will pend out.

If you mean the Huawei Y5, it is also now out of stock.

The 3 cheapest phones are now out of stock. The next cheapest is $379 - $25 discount = $354 total.

Need to be quick. Game over. Thanks for playing.

When I applied on line it did not ask me for my QFF number. I am currently on the phone trying to link that to my phone plan. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Yes apparently you will receive an email on how to link your QFF when you get the phone. No way to enter it during the application process

I've had a pretty good read (I think) and I'm on still on the side of it being a $74 cost, or $99 if you don't get the $25 discount.

My view is based on (i) the first two months being free; (ii) Vodafone posting the points within 30 days of the FF number being provided (so get onto it sooner rather than later); (iii) "Must connect for minimum one month" (Plus Plans with Qantas Points) and the fact it's only a month-to-month 'plan'; and (iv) "Total minimum cost is one month of your plan fees plus 100% of the MPP instalments of your chosen device" on the same page as the previous link. To me there might be some ambiguity in the last point where it states the minimum is a month's fee ($80) plus the phone ($99). However, the first two months are free and the points are supposed to post within 30 days. Even if they post between 30 and 60 days, I assume by that point you'll only have been billed the few dollars for the handset repayment with the exact amount depending on how long you took the phone over (12, 24 or 36 months). The fact there's a commitment to post the points within 30 days is I suspect where Vodafone might come unstuck.

Given it's a month-to-month 'plan' I don't see how Vodafone can charge you for the first two months and then only credit it in the third month.

As far as I can see there also doesn't appear to be a requirement to actually use the service. And of course you could probably flog the phone on ebay or similar for $50-odd or more, further reducing costs.

Currently on the phone to Vodaphone and cant find anyone who can link my number. First time I was sent to Qantas FF who had no idea what I was talking about. T&C's say bonus points will be provided within 30 days of Vodaphone receiving your QFF number. Number must be received within 60 days or points forfeited. After asking top speak to a manager and being told there is no way to supply this number without an email from Vodaphone eventually a rep found the answer to my enquiry.

You can load your number here.

Just had email confirmation that claim has been received and points will be posted within 30 days.

While I appreciate you were eager to get your number added to the plan so you could get your points as quickly as possible. The OP's link and the final page after you paid had all the information you needed.

Being a Vodafone customer for a while and getting points when signing up, I can confirm that as a new customer, Vodafone will email you when the time is right to get your QFF number. Don't stress.

Received my 2 handsets (one for wife and one for me), signed up for points using form linked above.

First thing i did with each handset was set up new google (gmail) accounts when setting up the phone, then downloaded uber eats app on each, then applied a "$20 off first order" promo code to each profile. $20 off Uber Eats Order (New Customers)

Anyone can think of other bonuses similar to this to take advantage of with a new sim + email account? Let's maximise the value guys!

Ola cabs (similar to Uber) offer $20 off your first ride I believe

Good idea, i can't find a code to that value online right now but i imagine they come up fairly often.

If Uber (i.e. ride sharing) is of more value to you then uber eats then you should instead use the following $20 off first ride promo code on the uber app: Uber Promo Codes: Exclusive $20 off in December 2018 | Finder. Choose wisely as once you add one of the promo codes to either app then you cant apply the other (the profiles are linked)

I'll chime in now to mention that members shouldn't provide any referral links in this thread (none have appeared that I can see, but I can see it going that way). I believe it should be within the rules to link to a post in the referral forum if it relates to maximising the value though.

I tried to set up my mobile this afternoon but was told I had to wait 24 hours to sign up for online services. I have a handset that works however, so I enjoyed playing with Android (I'm an iOS person usually).

My experience too- you don't really link your FF number. You claim the points after the event.

ive applied and got approved and the phone is arriving today/tomorrow, anyone know how long the phone can be 'hold' at vodafone store, afraid it wont arrive ontime before my travel..
