Oh ok - why not back up and apply for the VA one as well - they are more than happy to hand them out it appears.
I'm beginning to wish I hadn't bothered applying! I bank with NAB, and have done so for several years, and as it happens I got a letter from NAB only last month saying I was pre-approved for a limit of $10k on their NAB Premium Card. So you'd think my approval for this card would be fairly straightforward. Wishful thinking! First of all, they asked me to send a bank statement confirming my stated salary has been credited to my account for at least 2 months. I need to send NAB a copy of a statement that they sent to me in the first place? Ok, fine.
A week later I get another call:
NAB: "I'm sorry sir, but we can't accept the bank statement you sent, as it doesn't meet our requirements".
Me: "What? A NAB bank statement doesn't meet NAB's requirements of a bank statement? What do you mean by that?".
NAB: "I'll need to put you on hold" ....... "thanks for waiting. As I said, the statement you sent doesn't meet our requirements, so you'll need to send your last two monthly payslips".
Me: "My employer doesn't issue monthly payslips. So just to ask again, what is the problem with my bank statement?"
NAB: "It doesn't meet our requirements"
Me: "In what way?"
NAB: "I'll need to put you on hold" ....... "thanks for waiting. As I said, the statement you sent doesn't meet our requirements, so you'll need to send your last two monthly payslips or a letter from your employer or a Notice of Assessment from the ATO for the most recent financial year".
Me: "I'm sorry if it seems like I'm being awkward, but can you please answer my question, in what way does my bank statement - issued by NAB - not meet your requirements?"
NAB: "I'm afraid I can't disclose details of our lending criteria."
Me: "But you would accept a Notice of Assessment showing my income for the financial year that ended almost a year ago?"
NAB: "Yes"
Me: "Ok then!"
I still have no idea what the problem is, but I haven't heard back since sending my Notice of Assessment a few days back. If they come back to me again looking for more info I'm going to give up.
