First statements for both QF and VA card suites arrived last week - both balances paid off.
- QF statement had $250 annual fee in total - did not pay it - called up today and cancelled and had annual fee reversed - all done - 40K pts for zip.
- VA statement did not have $150 annual fee in total - called up today and cancelled - noted that no annual fee levied so hopefully will not see it appear as I am cancelling - was assured that indeed will not be levied - all done - 40K pts for zip.

Next please?

Did you cancel both on the same phone call ?

was thinking of grabbing one of these, but noted that you have to make a purchase by the 31st. I'm assuming that it's probably a bit late for this to be processed and make a purchase in time.
anyone know?

You'd only need to apply by the 31st. The deadline for the eligible purchase is 90 days from account opening.

Re: 40,000 sign up bonus on NAB premium Velocity and Qantas Crads

Received Qantas card a few weeks ago, made a$24.00 purchase, received a statement paid the $24.00 last week and 40K points in my FF account today. I guess the $250 annual fee will be on next statement and will need to make decision about paying and keeping the card as already have the ANZ Platinum for some years and plus the new ANZ Black and waiting for my 50K points to come through there too.

Points posted for both Qantas and Velocity. I might keep the Velocity one for a few months and have a small spend to keep the points "active".

The cards arrived today, which seems quite quick, given that I only applied last Wednesday night. Just the one envelope though, and no sign of a letter of offer.

Setup Internet banking and the Android app - all good.

Tried to use the card - no go. So I assume that a letter of offer will arrive at some stage, telling me to go to a branch. (I've never been an NAB customer before, for anything.)

Like others in this thread, I'll be leaving the Visa card in a drawer at home, and using the Amex card wherever it's accepted without a surcharge. And for almost everything else, I'll use my Citibank Signature Visa card. :)

I doubt that I'll be able to spend enough on it to justify keeping it after the first year, and I can't see myself buying 500 NAB shares any time soon, so unless I can persuade them to waive the fee the next time around, that'll be it.

I was a little surprised to find that the Amex card isn't contact-less or has a chip.

Does anyone know if NAB will be rolling out chip and contactless on their Amex cards in the near future?

They did ask was I interested in one of their other cards - my answer to both was maybe - but I would need a few days to formulate a policy for future card usage - in both cases the annual fees were waived.
So did they offer to waive the annual fee or did you ask them to?

Strange, like others have received the cards but no Letter of Offer...

I'm the reverse - received a letter of offer after about a week or so. Still no card yet - and it's now been over a fortnight since I was approved.

Still haven't arrived - 11 business days later - so I called up and NAB recommended that I cancel and have it re-delivered to a branch (rather than my work). Pretty smooth on the phone though, only 10-15mins to sort out.

Damn forgot about this and now it's dropped down to 20,000. Might wait for the next 40,000 promo.

Has anyone cancelled and gone back for a second shot at these cards? I can't see anything limiting eligibility to a single application in any time period.
