Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

I signed up for the promo on March 15th, entering the code online had already been disabled, so I emailed the provided email address.
As I am outside Australia at the moment, I thought the verification process might become a problem (it asked me to provide an Australian contact number, which I could not have been reached on given my location offshore, so I gave my local number)

10 days later, and I got an email today saying that I had been verified and the 5000 bonus miles is already in my Krisflyer account. So they are still processing the promo sign-ups...

I received my email today as well. 5K points heading my way soon.

I signed up with Kris Flyer on the 24th Feb before the promo kicked off . I thought id take a chance and put a request in for the 5000 points last week . To my surprise got an email this morning confirming i would receive the points within 5 days . An even bigger surprise when the 5K points hit my account tonight . :p

Do not know numbers and will not be able to get them either - BUT - multiple fictitious KF accounts have been cancelled - AND - a small number Velocity accounts cancelled also - so info coming from KF informs me. Sorry I cannot verify this - but I am pretty sure is valid.

I'm tippin' any AFFer embroiled here is not likely to put their hand up?

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

Not likely Cruiser. I'm just annoyed that I signed up to KF years ago and wasn't eligible for the offer.

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

Wasn't me. Only new account I created was for hubby as a 1st timer KF'er so he was legit...... he doesn't have a clue what I get up to in his name but he does get to enjoy the benefits from it.

It is human nature. ...when have you ever heard a gambler disclosing his losses? If he has a big win, you'll certainly hear about it!

At a value of 1c per Velocity pt, each Krisflyer account opened is costing SQ $37...no wonder they are not happy! !

These types of forums help people but also ruin it for others when some go overboard with their obsession to collect free miles at all costs.

I was going to sign up 4 accounts and not transfer to Velocity but instead look for ways to increase the KrisFlyer miles balance in those accounts.

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

My wife said,
Stop using my email for your stupid Points/Status stuff.
(She is Gold Etihad, Platinum VA, Silver V Atlantic, Diamond HH, Platinum Accor and a few others all legit in some way or another)

Just sign up/register with your email in my name she says I'm sick of the emails. So I do, for the first time, with the KF bonus offer and what do you think happens???? I receive a phone call from KF wanting to discuss the opening of a new account using my already registered email. Its been about 2 weeks since so I think i'm ok, first of all it was legit, I only opened one account, for my wife who did not have one and now her KF number is attached to a First/Suites flight next month.

Ha! My husband said, "Honey, why am I getting emails from SIA and who is Kris Flyer?".

Bonus miles for an account opened 9 March posted yesterday! So they are getting around to it.

Sorry to raise this question again but what's the best way to get around SQ not allowing VA accounts to be linked? I've linked the SQ from the VA end but still unable to shuffle points across.

That seems strange, accounts should only need to be linked from one side. Which account are you trying to shuffle the points from and too? Are you should the linking went though? On the VA side it's easy to check just go to Airline Transfers on the left hand too bar side where family transfers are. The KF side is harder, I needed to ready a walk though on austbt.com

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

I found I had to link them on both, but i had linked them prior to this "lock down" so not sure if they changed things

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

I signed up my family members using different email addresses but the same mobile number (mine); the younger ones don't have mobiles in any case. I made no attempt to link to Velocity.
It has been over a month and none of them have received the points, nor have I received a text, call or email to attempt to verify the accounts?
Should I try to follow up or am I stuck with four accounts which will discount me from any future bonuses?

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

Call them without a doubt - if you are genuine and can substantiate there should not be a problem Problems arose with fictitious sign ups not genuine sign ups.

Re: 5,000 Free KrisFlyer Miles for New Accounts (or 3,703 Velocity Frequent Flyer Poi

Worth a contact but they are a bit slow to respond at present.

I had a mixed bag of results

1. Mrs andye: KF points transferred to VA before they started checking (all as per t&cs)
2. Mstr andye1: KF points credited but unable to transfer as had put down wrong d.o.b. Passport submitted and now transferred
3. Mstr andye2: KF points credited and transferred before checking. Was a duplicate account with differing email addresses (I had signed up the day before the promo and was chancing my arm)
4. Mstr andye3: no KF points (duplicate account as above). Have submitted passport as requested. Will check periodically but not chase
5. Mstr andye4: KF points transferred to VA before they started checking (all as per t&cs)

Same here for one account for my pop. But given the 9 March account finally posted the bonus miles on the 7th of April, I'll give them a bit of time.

Is there an advantage to calling rather than emailing? Seems they might be busy processing new accounts in the order they were received.
