54 Days on the Moon

Saturday and as we entered Split a ferry was headed straight for us.
DSC01623.JPG.fb9d693892ac534cedbaca2efdf019c7.JPG
It swerved to go behind us. The ferries seem to always enter the ports at full speed. Quite a few of them in Split.
The views from the Moon.

Thought they looked a bit like a Massey Ferguson.

“The Metal Institute became the Industry of Machinery and Tractors (IMT) in 1954. The following year, research was conducted on different types of tractors and the Massey Ferguson licence was chosen.”

This one was at the place where the cousin of a friend lives in Glina, nowadays in Croatia. I tried half heartedly to take the plate!

Was the border post in operation? Both Slovenia and Croatia are now Schengen so it should be straight through.

Cars were driving straight through mostly as it’s function we were told has changed to a toll point.

Interesting home made bread in the centre of the photo.

Close to the ship and it turns out Mrsdrron didn't beat me by much as she went straight out on the balcony when she got back to our suite.

Once again it is to Atlantide for dinner. As you may have guessed it is by far our favourite restauant. When we leave the ship we will have had 42 out of 54 dinners here.
Why you may ask? The food has been of consistently very good quality. The service led by Maitre'D Paula is excellent. We have not got bored with the food as there is always a page that changes every day and the dishes by and large are different to the regular menu. but even the first two pages of the regular menu undergo slight change every 3-4 days.
So here was the nights menu plus the first 2 pages of the regular menu.

However the swell was borderline but there were strong winds and the forecast was that they were going to get stronger as a storm was coming from the south. Tender conditions were dangerous so Hvar was cancelled and we continued south close to the Croatian coast to miss the worst of the storm. The Moon handled it well but there was a bit of motion as the swell got to 3+ metres.

So off we went on another sea day. Not enjoyable as heavy rain and strong winds. My step count took a hit.
Lunch at Atlantide as Mrsdrron found out her favourite waiter/ boyfriend Therarith is their at lunch time. Forgot the menu but this was my lunch of seafood chowder, seafood basket and cheesecake.

For mains we both had the Ossobuco which was very good but no photo. I also had the tomato "sauce" which as always was excellent.

For dessert Mrsdrron had gelati and I a plate of Gorganzola. I love Italian Gorganzola.
