thanks medhead, lovestotravel and prozac - sounds promising. I'll see how it works.

If you spend $32 on Plat Edge at BP you will earn;
1. [-]32[/-] 64 Base Points, PLUS
2. 32 x 5 = 160 Bonus Points
3. Total Earn will be [-]32[/-] 64 + 160 = [-]192[/-] 226 Points

Remember 3-2-1, 2 base points on fuel.

medhead you are absolutely correct. I even checked my own points balance before posting and still neglected to double the base points. :oops:

Easy to do. Only remembered as I've been tracking a few transactions closely over the weekend.

Is it just me or are the bonus points slow to arrive?

My first sets of transactions the bonus have been added automatically, and then after my three week BP break whilst being o/s , the bonus points from my weekend transactions have not yet appeared though the transactions are posted.

Mine have always been there when the transaction has posted - but until now have only been petrol purchases. Was there anything different about the later transaction(s) [ie. Included gift cards]?

I have only bought petrol and nothing else so nothings changed. I did want to buy some gift cards but the operator had no idea how to register/load the cards.

I bought a $200 BP gift card on Sat, and the normal pts (1.5x) and bonus pts (5x) posted today:)

Nice to know kpc. Gives me some validation to my idea for Xmas presents for a couple of family members. Now to find a BP that has them as well as is one of the BP sites that is giving the bonus points

I swapped my gas bottle for my BBQ over the other day and received the bonus points!

I have 5 to swap over and will do these before the end of the year, it saves going to Bunnings to do it and the cost was about the same from memory

The morning coffee is also from BP (one that has a cafe type section) Not the best coffee but for 20 bonus points..... :oops:

That reminds me. I need a gas bottle refill.

Bonus points came through for a gift card purchase at BP Fitzroy on Main North road prospect in adelaide.

If you spend $32 on Plat Edge at BP you will earn;
1. 32 x 2.0 = 64 Base Points, as service stations earn at 2.0

PLUS
2. 32 x 5 = 160 Bonus Points
3. Total Earn will be 64 + 160 = 222 Points

This is in fact what has been occurring with my shiny new Edge = 7 points per $ :D

Major embarrassment I know. :oops: Rub it in. That is reflected in my points statement as well.:)

You can only try. All I can say is that BP gift cards earn the bonus points. There's nothing "illegal" about doing this.

It would be worth checking the fees on the prepaid visa card. This can be rather high and might change the cost/return equation.

and today, I filled up my wife's car on our way to family Xmas lunch. Found a site that does BP Gift cards. Got 2 x $50 but the negative was how long it took for him to process them - he had the book out and followed the 10 step instructions. Lucky I only got 2, as there were 5 people behind me when he'd finished

I had a similar experience. Obviously not many people buy them and staff aren't familiar with the process. The staff member serving me made 3 or 4 attempts before she got all the steps correct and I finally had my 2x $50 gift cards.

I only saw $25 and $50 gift cards hanging up - do they come in any larger denomination? Better have a lot of time on my hands if I want to prepay 2012's fuel bill :(
