I've seen $200 gift card. Maybe coincidentally at a place where the guy had no problems activating the card.

I only saw $25 and $50 gift cards hanging up - do they come in any larger denomination? Better have a lot of time on my hands if I want to prepay 2012's fuel bill :(

They also do $100 and $200 cards.

Thanks medhead and prozac. Will have to find a bigger BP then, but one that is participating in the offer (the biggest one that is close to me at work is one that futaris advised earlier is not participating).

Did you tell me earlier (?) the non- On the Run outlets have the gift cards.

Went to buy some BP gift cards today from BP Diamond Creek, but they only accept cash or eftpos for them!

Anyone know some BP stores in Melbourne that take Amex for the gift cards?

And is it possible to buy Visa prepaid credit cards with Amex anywhere?

The BP I went to tonight had BP branded giftcards (for use in BP stores only). Is this what I should be looking for, or are their some generic or other branded giftcards available for sale?

Yep, that's the ones.

I have bought a total of 4x $200 BP gift cards. Don't want to be too stressed to use them up within a year....and the bonus pts have just posted! Should I buy 1 more before 31.12??

I just bought a $200 Gift Card at the BP Kingsford Smith Drive, Hamilton. Had a chat with the lovely young Manager, Dani. They have every denomination ($25, $50, $100 and $200 - the bigger ones at the register) and have 2 registers. She said a lady had bought $1k worth earlier this week - okay, which of you here made that transaction?

They closed down one register for her, but it it wouldn't have taken long as Dani knew what she was doing. They asked why people were buying large denominations - so I told them.

Close for me and easy parking if not buying petrol at the same time.

LW, you need to go home via Hudson Rd Albion, the BP at the bottom has lots of gift cards including $200 ones!

Yes, well aware of it as I drive past it twice a day, but heeded futaris's earlier post - and he had tried the one I went to this morning on KSD and had posted that it had been successful. Only 2mins out of my way.

This location definitely takes Amex for the BP gift cards and the three staff I have dealt with all knew how to do it....

I haven't tried to purchase a prepaid Visa card though, but I assume they will only take EFTPOS/Cash for this like the post office...

I currently have $2000 of gift BP cards, and need another $4000 still :shock:

re: 5xbonus at BP 'til 31Dec2011[Ext.to 31Mar2012] Must register your card.

for Melbournites... I just tried BP on corner of City Rd/Clarendon St in Southbank and no dice there, won't accept AMEX for the gift cards. Then I tried the one on Kingsway in South Melbourne, they won't do it either. ARGHH!!!

anyone know of any BPs near/in city which do take AMEX for the gift cards?

It might be a little bit out of your way, but I picked up two $200 gift cards (and $100 worth of fuel) at BP in Doncaster (Doncaster Road near intersection of Middleborough Road) the other night. I stopped in on the way home from work at around 2am which was lucky because it took the bloke behind the counter about 20 minutes and two phone calls to work out how to do it. I havn't tested them yet, so fingers crossed they actually work! AMEX was no problem and no surcharge or anything.

Cheers,
AB

thanks for the tip. I was about to head that way, as I had to head back to my parents place in wantirna South for xmas dinner anyway, but noticed there was a BP at corner of Stud/High St on the way to the one you mentioned. Went in there and asked, and the guy at the counter said it was fine to buy with Amex, and they had all the different denominations. I bought 5 x $200 gift certificates and he activated them, and showed me there was $200 balance on each of the. Sorted :)

re: 5xbonus at BP 'til 31Dec2011[Ext.to 31Mar2012] Must register your card.

Could someone give me some pointers here please? I signed up for this BP promotion on my gold Amex credit card and subsequent to this I applied for the Amex Platinum Edge. I tried to signed up again, hopefully for the Platinum card but it says that I have already signed up. Will I be able to use my Platinum Edge card and still get the 5x bonus points?
