Hey @lang_13, did you receive a unique code which you submitted via the ANZ website along with your Velocity number or did you not receive any code and just rang ANZ directly to supply only your Velocity member number?

How long are submitting your Velocity number has it been to actually receiving the points?

Hi

No calls involved thankfully. I got email with code and link to supply velocity number the week after I activated the card (late september). Got first statement and met spend criteria last week, after which I received another email advising me that points would be credited within 2 months.

Just got approved for this one. It was too tempting an offer to turn away although wasn’t sure how I would go getting approved but thought it was worth a shot.

I applied for an ANZ black card in Jan this year, and my last card is NAB in late August. I'm thinking of applying before end of October. Anyone think its a bad idea? I still have the ANZ card open, but can close it if required but Ive read of people having 2 ANZ accounts so Im not too worried about closing it.

Just to update everyone on my progress with the bonus points. After not receiving the email with the unique code, ringing ANZ and supplying my Velocity number and being told that it could be up to 6 months to receive the points they ended up dropping into my Velocity account the other day.

I did end up ringing ANZ card solutions again on Tuesday of last week and spoke to a rep there who again said that I didn't need a unique code to redeem the points, they could see that the promo was applied to my account and it was just a matter of waiting 2-3 months to receive the points. Then out of the blue on Wednesday of last week I received the email with the unique promo code and a link to submit my details. I did this straight away and the points appeared in my account 2 days later on the Friday.

So my timeline went like this -
  • 19th September - Was approved for the card
  • Around the 24th September - Received the card and activated it + activated my ANZ Rewards account
  • 15th October - Met the $1500 minimum spend
  • 15th October - Rang ANZ to supply my Velocity details over the phone
  • 16th October - Rang ANZ again to enquire about the unique promo code
  • 17th October - Received email with promo code + entered details via ANZ website
  • 19th October - Bonus points dropped into my Velocity account
So it seems like the process doesn't really follow any rhyme or reason, but don't despair if you haven't don't receive the email with the code on activation it might only come after you meet the minimum spend.

Thanks for the above post... did you receive any confirmation after submitting the ANZ promo code?

No, I didn't receive any confirmation via email after I submitted the ANZ promo code. The points just showed up in my account a few days later.

Hi all, my wife was just knocked back on this card, her credit ratting is exellent and she earns 80,000k with little debt, I think she messed something up in the application e.g. said didn't factor me in as paying half the outgoings, should we try and find out why and would she still be eligible??

Yes best to call ANZ credit card team when you are by your partner's side to answer any questions.

One of the harder applications I've done actually, they came back to me with a lot of questions and requests for all sorts of docos

My partner's first CC since she got her PR recently, has her own business and investment income total $50k, only provided last years tax return and NOA as part of application's attachment. Next day got a call from ANZ credit card team, asked few questions, which were filled basically in the online application. But nonetheless, pretty straightforward and got accepted for 10k limit.

Just talked to mrs Clive and she said she put down that she pays $1300 a fortnight on morgage which she does but min payment is $400 and we redraw from mortgage
She will call tomorrow with me close by

This offer is fantastic, me and the mrs both received our cards today.
At the time of applying I had 4 other credit cards, still approved.

Just submitted my application. Had a hard time deciding between this and the st george offer but realized the st george offer would still be available in January.

They asked for 2 most recent payslips and the lease agreement from my rental property. Fingers crossed. I really miss being able to use apple pay.

I am hoping like heck this offer extends by another month or so. I called ANZ and confirmed I killed my Travel Adventures Card on the November 30 2017. I am assuming they are very strict on the one year rule so I am not going to burn a credit application with a risk of 0 points.

ANZ CS said electricity bills are excluded. From reading the T&Cs below, which category does electricity / water fall under?

Council falls under government?

Thanks in advance!

You will not earn Rewards Points on interest charges, premiums paid for ANZ Credit Card Insurance (ANZ Credit Card Insurance not available for new customers from March 17th, 2018), government charges, bank fees, payments made to the Australian Taxation Office or other taxation payments or duties, card account adjustments resulting from disputed transactions or otherwise, balance transfers or cash advances (as defined in the ANZ Credit Cards Conditions of Use) or transactions which are identified to ANZ by the relevant merchant or any intermediary financial institution as falling into one of these categories. Bonus Reward Points will not be earned in the Bonus Points Mall on the purchase of gift cards, GST or delivery and shipping charges.

Doesnt matter what they say, what it is, is. Try it and check, if you get the points, great!

I suspect that they are told to say its excluded if customers press them for an answer, because they don't have any real way of knowing. That way there will be no complaints later of the opposite occurred.

For me, I earn points on Electricity, Telstra, and all govt stuff, like car rego, licence, tolls. I have never had anything not earn points.

I wanted to make sure I charged the right expenses to the card to meet the $1.5k minimum spend to be eligible for the bonus points so I'm being extra careful
