A couple of questions from an AAdvantage newbie

If you get a directly issued Amex then you can transfer to AA through SPG. Diners has an add on MasterCard or Visa (forget which) and you can transfer to SPG.

Dale.

Just booked two J AA award seats on QF9 DXB LHR for next August. Booking confirmed, e-ticket received and booking visible in QF MMB. Question - after reading through many pages of this post and others, I can't find a recent reference as to whether the QF Chauffeur Drive is available to us in either DXB or LHR or both? There is nothing showing in MMB. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Used to be but I think no longer is. Must be a QF ticket (QF Points Award or revenue).

Re: Couple of AAdvantage questions from a newbie to it

Indeed ... The ticket number must start with 081- (Qantas ticketed) or 176- (Emirates ticketed)

When did the policy change?

The policy never changed ... it was always listed in the T&C's as being QF or EK ticketed flights only.

What did happen more recently was that Qantas got around to changing the Web booking facility so that it actually enforced this policy.

It was nice while it lasted

Staying slightly OT.

We have a QF10 arrival in 'F' booked as an AA award. My read on all this is that it is not entitled to chauffeur drive yet it was offered and they accepted the booking.

(0012 ticket stock)

Thoughts :?:

It might pay to keep your back-up chauffeur on call. ;)

AA had a schedule change that adversely impacted on my connection from a separate AA flight.

I called up to rejig the flights (losing one sector / SCs in the process).

According to Matrix, the new schedule is some $300 less than my original one.

But AA would / could not refund any stating it 'can't'.

They seem to be right but any wise opinion would be appreciated.

Thanks

Had the same thing happen to me. Booked the chauffeur, he turned up as advertised and all was good. Mind you this was back in May and I understand this particular loophole has since been enhanced out of existence. But I reckon if the booking is already in the system you will probably be OK. Good luck!

Must SWUs earned in 2014 be applied to travel no later than 28 February 2015, or can they be applied to travel beyond that time?

Thank you. I've fallen foul of that rule. I'm wanting to apply a SWU earned last year for travel in April but AA is telling me no, it must be used by the end of February. Entirely my fault, no doubt, but I've gone ahead and booked a four segment trip in the US just to get the four sectors for status. Not happy with myself. I'll requalify quite easily for EXP this year but it won't be until about the middle of December (with more travel beyond that). And I still have four SWUs.
