You're definitely doing it in the right order:
from average/good F products to excellent to absolutely amazing (assume you meant EY, not EH lol).

Enjoy your trip!

Only a few days left to burn those AA miles!

Managed to redeem my last 60K on BNE-ADL-DOH-CDG QR J (A350) / QR J (A380).

Have some JAL awards on hold. Does anyone know if the 777-300ER with the flat Skysuites is permanent equipment for SYD-NRT or "seasonal"?

Will be jumping on the phone this weekend to book the last of my christmas europe trip. Just need to get from EU>JFK.

Looking at AB to get across so I can avoid UK APD.

What happens if the booking sits in the ticketing que say 19th march but doesn't get processed till the 23rd?

The award charts are pretty clear - the new prices apply for travel booked on or after 22 March. If you book before then 0- old prices apply.

That was my thought but I know what some FF programs can be like. No stress.

I was just looking at the availability on rewards on Etihad and amazingly saw this for the next 3 days in F:

18/3 - 6 seats A380
19/3 - 3 seats A380
19/3 - 1 seat 77W
20/3 - 5 seats A380
20/3 - 6 seats 77W

SYD-AUH

18/3 - 6 seats 77W
18/3 - 1 seat A380
20/3 - 6 seats 77W

MEL-AUH
18/3 - 6 seats 77W
19/3 - 6 seats 77W
20/3 - 6 seats 77W

BNE-AUH
18/3 - 6 seats 789

AUH-MEL
seats available almost every day until mid July

AUH-BNE
seats available almost every day until mid July

Yeah good availability with EY , pity it's priced as two awards though Australia<>Europe for J = 75k as opposed to 60k if you use QR through the Middle East. QR not offering F to Australia tho so i guess EY has the advantage there.

There is good availability on EY. I just put on hold 2 bookings for my parents (Mel - AUH) - 1 in J and the other in F. Now they can decide. It's not so easy to convince mum the value of F as she doesn't drink.

I don't drink either. Didn't need anyone to convince me to fly F lol

I've noticed EY opens more apartments closer to date of departure. I'm booked on B777 to MEL next month and will keep an on apartments to SYD should some become available.

Hope AA will only charge change fee, there are mixed reviews regarding what will happen with existing bookings post 22nd March.

Change of origin or destination will require a reprice (redeposit of miles) I thought? So you'll be up for the new miles requirements. Sticking to MEL you'll be fine to change flights.

Also type of redemption, ie. AA booking, oneworld booking or partner booking. You can't change from oneworld to partner eg. QF to Etihad, or from AA to oneworld, eg LAX-HKG from AA to CX. One mile at a time had a great write up on what you can and can't do.
