Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

I think it is totally wrong for anyone with an ounce of decency to associate Crass Pain with the word that sounds like "punt".

After all ... "punts" are useful.

And just for a laugh, here's something to look back on :- No Cookies | thetelegraph.com.au

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

Despite the fact that he's one of the least likeable of a really unlikeable front bench, you have to feel a little sorry for Scott Morrison.

President Credlin has him hobbled, not permitting him to actually say anything at his weekly attempts at press conferences, then this unelected bureaucrat has the nerve to bawl him out in front of his colleagues for his poor performance. There's only one person with any balls in this current government, and it's our Peta who has them. Too bad she misuses them so badly.

Little wonder that our Scott has gone all zen, coming out with calming little mantras such as "ah Grasshopper, the ocean is vast but the boat is small. Omm". May he find inner peace.

Yes an anonymous source tells Fairfax that this conversation took place so it is a fact.
Scott Morrison's staff and the minister have said it didn't happen so it must have.
Really looks like several people are going for the Gold Medal in Misogyny.

You doubt it happens? You doubt that Credlin is running the show? I have this bridge that you might like to buy.

Of course Morriscum's office is going to deny it, they're cowering any time the phone rings from Credlin's office.

Well done on being so post-modern and feminist by the way, - there's nothing misogynist in pointing out that the government lacks balls (it's not exactly calling anyone a witch, is it?), but I guess you can feel free to go nuts at any criticism of that bunch of L-Platers.

Re: Oz Federal Election 2013 - Discussion and Comments

And the best the right whingers can do is blame someone for a tweet made by somebody else. Double standards indeed. :)

Well I did try to use multiquote to give 5 examples in the last 30 posts where the reply to a post of mine constituted a personal attack but between clicking the multiquote buttons and the reply with quote 3 had been redacted.
But badgerboi wants to sell me a bridge, you say I cant read and by implication calling me nasty and vile.
And you have the temerity to say it is the right wingers that go in for personal abuse!
And just who is the gang of 5?I have only met one of your right wingers and our only discussions over dinner were food, wine and travel.Big conspiracy.

As to your photo incident with TA-this was endlessly discussed in the pre election thread. You know others have a very different view to you.Just because it is not your opinion doesn't make those thoughts wrong. As you know I do not agree with your explanation of those photos.Yet that is basically all of your argument.Because you dislike TA vehemently makes him the devil incarnate.Well I have news for you.

And back to killing PMs.Photos in yesterday's press of a demonstration with a placard of TA in his budgie smugglers on the gallows.Fair comment I suppose you say.
And as to Social media the facebook page Killtonyabbott was put up by the Geelong Trades Hall Council. The power base of Senator Kim Carr-yet to hear him denounce that.

In fact all you lefties, having run out of anything constructive or interesting to add..
I'm always ready to have a constructive and interesting discussion.

However, whenever I try to the response is always "BUT CARBONTAX GOVERNMENTDEBT STOPTHEBOATS JULIAR", or something about the bookies odds of the next election.

Well good news for you there TA is 1.40 from 1.30 so he's losing popularity.

Bad news is its a very long race :)

Yeah - I know you try to at least stay civil and debate the topic and play the ball and not the man drsmithy however other people on here could say the same and say that whenever I try to the response is always "BUT WORKCHOICES/ YOURE A MISOGYNIST/DENIER/VESTED INTEREST, NEWSLTD/MURDOCH, MINDLESS NEGATIVITY OF THE OPPOSITION, PETA CREDLIN/MORRISCUM/CRASS PAIN" etc.

I guess what I am trying to say here is that the incivility does not all come from one side or the other.....

And I still agree with you that real estate prices are too high in Australia although we may politely disagree on how it could be fixed.

There are some pretty intelligent people here from all sides of politics however an online forum/twitter/other social media is often not the best way to communicate or solve problems.... as a lot of people seem to descend into cheap shots and name calling.

I tried Goggling "tony abbott guillotine cartoon" but just got some news articles about Despicable T's funding cuts. Even switching to images yields nothing (though the first image is intriguing)

And I don't do FameBeg, so I would be greatful if you quoted a sample of the Kill Tony Abbott content. Otherwise it is hard to judge whether it is tongue in cheek or deadly serious. The latter would not be a good look .....

Libtika to the Rescue

One Term Tony's best qualified lapdog, the ABC's Libtika Bourke, comes to the rescue with tales of some distasteful behaviour from imported Gillard staffer John McTernan.

Leaked John McTernan emails reveal aggressive approach of Julia Gillard's spin doctor - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

So now every time some of President Credlin's behaviour is criticised, AFF's Right Whinge contingent have something to come back with. You couldn't make this stuff up! (oh wait on, someone already did when they produced The Thick of It...)

Let the games begin...

Re: Libtika to the Rescue

Good point BadgerBoi - that is something I noticed with the previous government and do not want to see it repeated in this current government. Things all politicians and staffers should repeat every day ......

The Thick of It and The Hollowmen are political satire - not an instruction manual on how to govern.

Trending on twitter / getting the most selfies or conducting social media wars does not equal leadership or good policy and governance.

Thou thalt not govern by press release, and complex political problems cannot be summarized of solved in a 120 character tweet. Spin and distraction can get you so far but no further, sometimes the people cotton on before the media does, sometimes not.

If you must start a war - check your own location and what you are going to throw. If you are inside the glasshouse and you have a brick in your hand - think again. (The McTernan and 457 Visa issue comes to mind)

Yes, yes, yes. So that's all well and good, but rather than focussing on the negatives we should instead celebrate the positives.

Starter for 10, anybody?

Anyone at all??

Turnbull is positioning for a coup ?

The kids dental scheme is number 1 & the continuation of further (free holiday's) education is number 2

Oh & the cricket :)

I thought the Coalition only promised to match current funding pledges and look at universal dental care further down the track, but if they are willing to match Labours' $4 billion promise of dental care for disadvantaged children ... then that is of course a good thing.

Not sure what's the education policy you allude to, but the cricket team is definitely doing it for Tony.

So that's one and a half useful things in 100 days ....

It's interesting to read the current polls/survey that should an election be called this weekend, the Coalition would be gone.

And for the whole of the second term of the Labor govt the Liberals demanded they have an election whenever the polls showed the Libs in front.
