What recommendations do Sydney locals have to using the dining benefit there? Any stand-outs?

I recall dining at Atelier pre-covid and enjoyed it.

Another +1 for Tayim
+1 for Atelier also (but tbh I would never be dining there on RRP prices)

For Melb:
+1 Miss Mi (would readily return)
Sofitel Melb is so so (reasonable with the discount but that's about it)

Melbourne - I haven't used my Accor Plus here yet but Hutong Dumpling Bar in South Yarra. I have been going for years. Amazing Xiao Long Bao and Chilli Wontons! Will be using next weekend!

Can't wait to try Miss Mi and also keen on other recommendations, it's hard to search the threads ;)

First post to, hello everyone!!

Looking for some expert advice. I have some points expiring at the end of the month. Unable to use them with a stay before the expiry date, easiest option seems to be to transfer to QF. Thought of a booking for later in the year and I know that if using points and you cancel the booking, the points will be recredited but does this apply to points that are due to expire?

My Accor Plus card expires tomorrow and I renewed today. I was Platinum but thought I not did not requalify as at end of 2022 to maintain Platinum. My nights stayed was 33 with the Fast Track last year so had expected to be Gold. After I renewed this morning I checked the app on the phone and also my account on my destop computer and both cards show I am Platinum with the words Fast Track in a blue box underneath Platinum and the card is valid until 30 June 2024. I am not sure how I would have obtained Platinum status again or come 1 July my card will show Gold. Any comments?

In my case I was Gold and knowing that I did not re-qualify I called the contact centre to renew. I asked for carry over on the gold status, noting I was a long standing customer, challenges of Covid etc. They raised with a supervisor and said they would do it this once saying that the app may initially show silver but they would manually intervene to show gold. I did receive both silver and gold cards in the mail but status is definitely gold. Admittedly gold isn’t worth a whole lot but I do enjoy the higher points earn and, as I learned in Japan and Taiwan, gold has access to a higher standard of free drink!

My renewal is due in August. Currently gold, but will fall just short. I might try your suggestion and ask for a carry over.

Not sure if mentioned previously, but a quick tip for those with an upcoming renewal - my membership expiry date was June 30th, and couldn't renew online as I was getting a random error message. I ended up waiting for July 1st, and was able to sign-up online as a new member, which provided membership until July 31st next year, so effectively 13 months (whereas I suspect a renewal before June 30th would have provided membership until June 30th the following year).

But what is your new membership status? @CaptainCurtis

I qualified for Gold outright last year and was showing as Gold Accor+ until 30 June. On 1 July, I dropped down to Silver, but both Accor ALL and Accor Plus confirmed this was a system glitch and would be rectified irrespective of whether I renewed Accor+. Upon signing up for Accor+ again, it took a few hours for my status to update to Gold Accor+ (I was told they had to do something in the back end to resolve the glitch).

Ah i see, i am Gold Accor+ but will fall just short this year. My membership year finishes at the end of August, I think I will have to phone and see if they will grant another year at gold before renewal.

I've noticed that both Atelier at Sofitel Darling Harbour and Dixson & Sons have excluded a number of a la carte menu items from discounts. Unfortunately for Dixson & Sons I feel like those were the only dishes I would have returned for anyway.

With sporadic acceptance to begin with and now this change I'm a lot less inclined to go.
