Accor Plus Membership Discussion

Question if I may please:

Staying at Sebel tonight booked and pre paid through Q hotels.
If I charge parking and dinner to my room, will I get ALL rewards points? They have my # on file or am I better to just pay when dining with my linked Mastercard?

This will also be the same scenario for Koh Samui in September.
Thanks
From memory, I charged everything to the room and upon check out I made sure they had my Accor number & I got the points after a few days

You only need to pay with the linked card if you are not staying at the hotel and note that AMEX cards cannot be linked. Keep your receipts and if there is any issues call the customer care line

They have my # on file as have stayed before and have had email acknowledging my Accor+gold.
Will pay with Amex, and if I don't get the points, I will follow up as you suggest.
It will be sub $100 so if I don't get the points, I will at least have my strategy for September.

i have previously stayed a M Gallery in Pattaya through luxury escapes. I paid for a group dinner with friends which i did receive points for.

I did specifically ask them to ensure i got points for it though.

You should be able to, just confirm it with them when paying and make sure they have your ALL number on the receipt (or somewhere relevant, as appropriate) when signing for it. This is what I've had to do at Raffles Singapore, as a non-resident of the hotel, just ask on paying and I've never failed to have the points appear a few days later, so as a resident of the hotel, like you will be, then you shouldn't have a problem (or it will be resolved if they don't post correctly).

did you get points for the stay as well?

Thanks @N0mad did you use a linked visa/Mastercard?

Adding to my comment, now upon checkin at Sebel Moonee Ponds, Gold recognised, late check-out offered, 2 drink vouchers, chocolate amenity, welcome card, upgrade to 2 bedroom apartment and discounted parking.
20240228_144455.jpgBooked and pre paid Qantas Hotel booking- will see how I go in a week with ALL points 🤞

How did the hotel get your ALL membership number? Did you call the hotel after making your booking with Qantas Hotels?

Yes @aikman , I did call but also they have it on file having stayed previously.
I will report back to see if the points get credited.
I booked through Qantas Hotels as Accor were quoting a bit more!Screenshot_20240229_113854_Photos.jpg

Surely they'd have price matched Qantas Hotels if you contacted them, no?
I’m assuming the goal is to double-dip on points (i.e. QFF points from Qantas Hotels + ALL points)? Potentially even triple-dip (i.e. QFF points from Qantas Hotels + ALL Points + QFF points via linked ALL account)?

Some slip through the net but according to ALL T&C’s you won’t get points if not booked direct.
I believe they are going to tighten it further but I definitely know people who have been awarded points despite booking through other channels

Yeah, I know that’s how it’s meant to work. I’m guessing in some instances it’s worth the gamble. At the very least, you can likely get status recognition during your stay (even if you miss the points themselves).

No intention to double dip @DejaBrew - just wanted to work out if I put dining on room account whether points would be allocated on a 3rd party booking or just use linked credit card at the time of dining and keep receipts in case points don't go throughout.
Have Koh Samui in September and they wouldn't price match - Accor was nearly $1k dearer!

Am not expecting or hoping for hotel points @jase05 , point of exercise was to see if points go through on room a/c purely for the ease of paying at the end of our stay with linked card when dining.

Aren’t they meant to offer a deal for price beat according to the Accor Plus T&Cs? Or is there some way they weasel out of it with fine print?
Honestly couldn't be bothered @DejaBrew - I like to pay in AUD before I go with the most flexible cancellation policy, which surprisingly Qantas Hotels had with 9 points per $.
Also that AU spend meets criteria for my credit card TI and I can also get pre existing (though I have booked the other week through Accor + as it was less expensive)

So for me it's a win - win
YMMV 🫠
