Accor Plus Membership Discussion

Aren’t they meant to offer a deal for price beat according to the Accor Plus T&Cs? Or is there some way they weasel out of it with fine print?
I have had success with it, but they definitely do go through absolutely every detail of the fine print and look for any possible way to deny the request. You also have to book the rate on Accor first, then contact them to get a price match. If it's a non-refundable rate and they deny you on a technicality you're then stuck with the booking at the higher rate.

If the rate is flexible then I'll usually give it a go, knowing that if they deny me I can just cancel the booking. If it's non-refundable then, unless the difference is small and I'm comfortable taking the risk, I'll usually just book with whoever was cheaper.

So now I learn about linked cards 😂 just stayed direct with Peppers and they claimed they couldn't sort it so that I got points for restaurant spend. Appreciate the tip!

Some weird stuff going on with the Accor Plus member offers.

I clicked through from the offer email while logged OUT and this was the offer. Note the price.

But when I log in and before selecting any dates the price jumps to this:

Then when I input dates, I get a wide range of prices from the mid $400's upwards.
That's what From $x means I guess. Prices vary from x to x+1000000

Noobie question - As an Accor + Platinum, would i receive Club Millesime access at Sofitels outside of Asia Pacific? I'm going to book a stay at Sofitel Istanbul and would love club access there.

Yes - assuming they have a club that is operating, then unless the property itself has been excluded, then it should be provided. The ALL Executive Lounge benefit for Platinum & Diamond is global. Typically it will be available at any Sofitel with a lounge. If you have any in your sights, note that Fairmont Gold lounges are excluded, across the board.

p.s. this benefit has nothing to do with Accor Plus, but rather the broader Accor ALL status benefits you have. Accor Plus is only for Asia Pacific and for dining discounts at Accor properties. You won't get any of that in Turkey, or elsewhere outside of Asia Pacific.

Cheers,
Matt.

Thanks for clarifying. I just found the Platinum benefits page and it seems that the Lounge at Sofitel Istanbul is excluded, as it it not listed. Bummer.

Take that with a grain of salt… just because it’s not listed there doesn’t mean it’s excluded. Plenty of examples out there like this, unfortunately. Lazy update processes more likely to blame.

I’d suggest best and fastest way to confirm is to call or IM the hotel and check that lounge access is offered to ALL Platinum & Diamond members. Don’t mention Accor Plus.

Cheers,
Matt.

Adding to my comment, now upon checkin at Sebel Moonee Ponds, Gold recognised, late check-out offered, 2 drink vouchers, chocolate amenity, welcome card, upgrade to 2 bedroom apartment and discounted parking.
View attachment 372822Booked and pre paid Qantas Hotel booking- will see how I go in a week with ALL points 🤞
Update on my stay booked via Qantas Hotels @jase05 and @DejaBrew

Charged parking and dinner to room and noticed yesterday (13 days after stay) ALL points awarded.
Happy with that.
I wasn't going to pursue if not allocated.

Think for simplicity, I will just pay for meals as we go with linked card for next holiday booked via QH.

Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa has been loved by the Accor Plus member community since opening on Denarau Island in Fiji in late 2005. Always committed to providing an outstanding guest experience, the resort has undergone a substantial refurbishment and evolution in recent years.

In the words of Shaney Tompson from the Sydney Morning Herald, “The Sofitel remains one of Denarau’s best resort options, consistently delivering on service, style and sophistication. The extensive renovation enhances and differentiates the hotel from others, finding a unique balance between catering for families, business travellers and kid-free couples.”

Given the significant level of investment, not wishing to compromise on quality and service and the dynamic environment in which the hospitality industry operates, it has been necessary to reconsider some of the Accor Plus member benefits at the resort. As such, from the 15th of April 2024, the following exceptions will apply at Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa:

Stay Plus complimentary night Benefit
The Stay Plus complimentary night will be available when combined with a minimum 3-night stay.

Dining Benefit
Accor Plus members will enjoy a flat 25%* off the food menu per table at the following dining outlets at the resort:
  • Solis Restaurant
  • Suka (all day Tapas offering)
  • Waitui Bar and Grill
  • Bazar Kitchen and Bar
  • Madame So
  • Main pool
  • Journal Lounge
We sincerely appreciate your understanding of these exceptions. Please rest assured that Vincent Macquet, General Manager of Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa, and his team, are looking forward to welcoming you as an incredibly valued Accor Plus member with the inimitable Fijian warmth and hospitality.

Yeah - saw that. Too bad to all the families who are locked in for the various AU school holidays in 2 weeks, and budgeted 50% off for mum & dad's overpriced meals..... could have at least made an exception for in-house guests with confirmed bookings prior to the announcement.

It's a captive market if you want ALL 5* accommodation & A+ discounted dining though; so I guess they can do what they like and most will just wear it.

Cheers,
Matt.

correction NSW School Holidays.

Some (most?) states have school holidays now.

Would like to see this, did a few dummy bookings for 3 nights, no luck as per usual.

I’m booked in June and got the email today too.
I got Accor Plus for the discount on this trip - great timing 😂 (although arguably
I should have got Accor plus a while ago….)

I remember when Marriott Bonvoy got rid of their dining discount i think it was 15-20% in the middle of our St Regis Langkawi stay. They did honour the full discount for the duration of the stay which did help a lot especially on wine & drinks
