I have had success with it, but they definitely do go through absolutely every detail of the fine print and look for any possible way to deny the request. You also have to book the rate on Accor first, then contact them to get a price match. If it's a non-refundable rate and they deny you on a technicality you're then stuck with the booking at the higher rate.Aren’t they meant to offer a deal for price beat according to the Accor Plus T&Cs? Or is there some way they weasel out of it with fine print?
If the rate is flexible then I'll usually give it a go, knowing that if they deny me I can just cancel the booking. If it's non-refundable then, unless the difference is small and I'm comfortable taking the risk, I'll usually just book with whoever was cheaper.
