Accor Plus Membership Discussion

Couple points:
  • A major reason for becoming an Accor+ member is the discounted rates you'll get at Accor properties across Asia-Pacific with hotel stays being discounted by as much as 50%. A publicly accessible listing of the current available offers can be found here
  • Aside from the steep discount on the room rate (and the "free" night if you get the membership that includes Stay Plus) you also get a 25% discount at participating restaurants in Asia-Pacific. This discount makes dining at the hotel quite reasonable
  • You also get Accor Silver membership off the bat as well
  • Until November 30, you can join Accor+ for free for 4000 Accor points. Note: this is the membership without the free night.
Is anyone able to confirm if the peppers properties (eg Noosa, Kingscliff) are elligible for the stay plus night?
Can't comment on whether those properties specifically qualify for Stay+ as I've already used my Stay+ benefit this year (see below)
The site is contradictory - in one section it says that they are elligible on bookings of 3 nights or more, but then at the end it states all pepper and mantra properties are excluded
Yes, Stay Plus nights can be applied to Mantra properties:

Also - if you get the Accor plus membership with 2 free nights, can you get away with booking a 3 night stay and having 2 nights free? Or would you need to make 2 separate 3 night stays
Where can you get Accor Plus with 2 free nights?

I'm very new to this forum (first post :)) just wondering, I'm an Accor Plus gold, I have always just renewed whenever they have rung me, but didn't realise there was the ALL membership for free. From my little bit of research the main difference seems to be the 50% off meals for the plus membership. Is this the case? Cheers

welcome to AFF, @Dae . Accor plus also gets you the red hot room deals, and often the Accor Plus discount is 10% when the ALL discount is only 5%.

cheers skip

Welcome Dae. The $ membership gives you an included night which can be used at the majority of Accor properties. It is very difficult to find a $0 room at a Sofitel or Pullman at the last minute. We usually book months in advance and stay at a 5 star property at no additional cost. The hint with this night is to book something to your room so that you get the night credited to your status count. Yes, $Accor+ gives you access to the red hot rooms which are a great saving as well the dining discounts even if you are not a guest.

I wonder whether this means any changes to the Amex Platinum benefit. I assume not in the short term, but there's a chance Accor might review the existing Amex contract in light of the different membership levels being introduced in Australia.

I doubt it. The lower Accor+ Traveller tier has been around for a long time, it's just that it wasn't available for purchase by the general public (in Australia). If AmEx wanted to, they could've negotiated with Accor to get the Traveller tier for its members as other organizations in Australia have done for their members.

Fabulous thanks for the info

Was able to use my free Stay Plus night at the Sofitel Queenstown for an upcoming trip in Feb.
Room average rate for the 4 nights we are there is $710 so my membership has well and truly paid for itself and that’s before the food and beverage discounts this year that would be conservatively estimated at a couple of thousand dollars

I used my free night on a recent stay in Singapore, definitely worth more than the annual fee cost. Not to mention the discounts on food and beverages. We have saved lots.

I'm thinking of buying the Accor Plus EXPLORER. Has anyone here had any good/bad experiences with it? I've seen there are many negative reviews online but there appears be be a few great Mantra 'hot deals' in Queensland over school holidays that I'd love to benefit from. Does any know of any specials or have referral links to purchasing Accor Plus EXPLORER?
Thank you! :)

I have it (until the end of the year) after a friend "gifted" (I paid her back the $70!) me the membership. It paid for itself in the meals I ate over a weekend at the Sofitel in Melbourne and then all the other advantages were just cash in my pocket (discounted rooms, red hot rooms, and Australiasia-wide dining). It gives you instant Silver status and in all but one hotel this was acknowledged in room with a treat, late check out upon request, and a welcome drink. Not sure what the bad experiences reported could be?

I agree, that all sounds positive for you, especially when it set you back $70! Great deal! Did you find you were able to book the 'hot deals' on the dates you wanted? I saw the following deal https://www.accorplus.com/au/offers/stay-package-the-sebel-maroochydore-june-22/ and wonder whether it would be available during January 2023. Would you mind checking for me please?

Cheapest on offer in Jan is for 29th-31st for $835.

Has anyone else received the below email from Accor Plus? Simply no way I am emailing them a copy of my ID documents in the current climate.

Just checked my emails and I do not have an email . The fact that they want you to email your identity should be a flag. I never had to give my ID for Accor plus. Maybe if you log on to your account from a different computer it will show you but not from the link. It does look like a scam.

My initial thought was that it’s a scam, but their FAQ have a question an accounts that have been suspended. Also tried live chat, and they confirmed the requirements.

I received this a few weeks ago after using Accor Plus via VPN while travelling. I called several times and spoke to their onshore member services team who confirmed this is legit. Begrudgingly sent them an expired licence with an old address and they reactivated my account
