Is it really necessary to pay somewhere north of $40-50 to get a champagne worth drinking? I say champagne as I am referring to the French muck.

If you buy Champagne purely on price then, yes.

It really is up to the consumer / purchaser.

There have been some quite reasonable sub $30 drops out there.

I think most of my handbags fit a bottle in them (I'm a fan of the tote style of handbag — so handy!) so I indulged my long-repressed spy novel fancies with the briefcase

Although I was bemoaning the fact that none of my car's (nine) drink holders fit a champers bottle the other day. I'd gone to the drive in with a mate of mine, and of course, one needs a bottle while one is at the drive in... and it didn't fit! Time for a new car which *does* fit one I reckon
