Advice on champagne

So I finally get to test 1st bott from gooddrop.com.au - the Charles Heidsieck:

Just perfect - just perfect - I fell in love with this drop when SQ had it as std offering in J quite some time back but price in Oz never seemed that attractive - until now:

IMHO this drop significantly superior to the Taitts, Bollys, Veuves, Billies, etc so at the price point a serious bargain - indeed just ordered a doz botts.

Just checking, but the bottle pictured was ordered from that website? I only ask as the picture on the site has a different (maybe older?) label. If so I'll have to order some as we really like the Charles Heidsieck.

This is the first time I have heard of goodrop Cruiser. Thanks for the heads up. They have some interesting Single Malts at good prices and I like their delivery policy.

Don't thank me prozac - carwashhair is the star here - I too had never heard of this mob until I was first alerted to them by this astute AFF member.

Aww thanks Cruiser, and thanks everyone else who has jumped on these deals posted as well. Always wondered how I could give back on this site when there are so many knowledgeable people I've learnt from over the years. I guess i've found a way to do it!

I should say I got tipped off to gooddrop on ozbargain as a whisky deal, but soon saw some of their champagne prices were decent. After receiving a spirits order from gooddrop last week, I noticed the booze is basically coming direct from the alcohol importer Kollaras Trading in Albion Park - gooddrop is their online retail portal. I've noticed a number of alcohol items i've purchased over the years as being imported by them so I have few concerns as to their longevity/experience, but I couldn't say with certainty whether they are importing their champagne refrigerated or not, or if they have 'sole importer' rights to some of the labels they have.

Hi all, I was recently on MH and they had a champagne available but I can't remember what it's called. I think I had too many glasses of it

It was a gold label and the name was two words, I believe to obviously be French names, possibly hyphenated. Any help?

This one maybe...Philipponnat Champagne Royal Reserve ?

Finally figured it out!

Canard-Duchene.

Honestly can't say I'd heard of them before and I used to work in the wine industry

I haven't either.
From Oddbins (UK)
"...Canard-Duchêne was made as the consequence of the marriage of a barrel producer, Victor Canard, and a wine cultivator, Léonie Duchêne. In 2009, the house is still driven by a family devoted to making fine wines and champagnes. The Champagne house has been situated in Ludes in the Montagne de Reims National Park following 1868. Its authors were conceded the privilege by the Russian Imperial Family to embrace its crest as the family insignia. The delegated two-headed hawk has in this way showed up on each Canard-Duchêne mark following the end of the nineteenth Century. The brand was an official supplier of the Tsar Nicolas the second."
