Advice on champagne

No bollinger rose at T5 LHR BA Flounge, replaced by Taitinger rose :-|
Still prefer the bollinger rose

Am in Seville at the moment, so off topic - it has to be lot of CAVA

Not champagne but Mrs B. and I did enjoy a bottle of Zimmermann (McLaren Vale) Sparkling Moscato with a slice of lime from our own tree.
With a dozen oysters Kilpatrick and some garlic prawns, a nice way to spend New Year Day lunch.

I actually dislike Moscato with a vengeance but whilst at Zimmermanns was given a glass to try with the lime and not told what it was.
It was interesting so I picked up a few bottles. Mr Z informed me that it is the lime that alters the structure.
Not knowing anybody else that makes a sparkling moscato I thought it would be nice to offer friends something "different" to try.

Between the 2 of us, we enjoyed a Cremant de Gemay from John Gehrig on NYE. Sparkling gamay is most unusual and we were pleasantly surprised. Great with our homemade massaman lamb curry.

Sometime between dinner and the early hours of the first day of the new year, we consumed a bottle of Billecart-Salmon rose as well as the NV. Yum.

Let the detox begin - not going to touch any more wine until, oh, Friday night.

You are lucky. Usually the Rose is Castlenau. Bolli is well gone. Staple champagne at t5 F is taittinger 2002 (I think), castlenau also is prominent. At Christmas they had swapped the vintage taittinger for the grand crus.

YES when in F MNL-SIN and only Dom on offer one felt rather distressed, dissatisfied and disillusioned!

SQ used to serve Krug AND Dom on all first class flights. Then Krug was quietly dropped on regional sectors. They'd also served Dom in the SKL back in the day, making a relatively cheap upgrade to "F" on the KUL shuttle (back in the SQ/MH duopoly days) exceptional value, before downgrading to Charles Heidsieck Mis En Cave (a NV) and making a comeback in quality with La Grande Dame (TPR) and Charles Heidsieck Millesime 2000 (SKL F); agree it's all a matter of taste as I far prefer the vintage CH to the LGD and TPR staff couldn't understand why I'd want to sup on the "lesser" champagne. :p

If you like marzipan you may be interested in this tasting combination... just finished a La Porchetta margarita pizza with a bottle of Moet. combination of salt, sugar and fat (with cheese and tomato I guess)... but bite of pizza followed by mouth of Moet = drinking pure marzipan!!

As I said, interesting if you like marzipan :)

need to top up stocks after the Christmas & New Year period... Looking for someone posting sale details here soon

We were drinking Bolly in the Mel F Lounge, followed by Pol Roger in flight, and then the ever so delicious Moet (stock standard race course moet) in the DXB F Lounge, Pol Roger back onboard again, then Tattinger in the LHR T3 FLounge.... Does something seem wrong in this picture?

You started and stopped with the two I like, and took a breather on the middle with the average ones? ;)
