qwibble have sent me another email for 17.6% off wine purchased at dan murphy's. i've assumed that includes champagne and put through an order for 10 bottles of NV to do a tasting with some friends.

will report back on the qwibble experience before reporting back on the NV tasting!

WOW - is that correct? 17.5% cash back from Dan's?

supposedly. first time using the qwibble website so will wait and see what happens. will be doing the champagne tasting regardless, but 17.6% back on top is a nice bonus

their advert is...

on the face of it, it appears similar to starthere, i.e. click through a link to the dan murphy's page. any payment method you like, so if it works, plus a gift card could = big savings.

Hmmm...................Qwibble .....................hmmm.....................I guess you would need to be wary of an organisation who are one week advertising 17.6% rebate on Dan's purchases then the next week advertising 8.8%....................IMHO................... does not compute!

Well I was just at Costco and got a bottle of Mumm champagne with two champagne flutes for less than $50. Mumm produces the champagne served at Maxims in Paris, so it isn't too ordinary.

They were offering double cash back though; 1 week only?

Decisions decisions - intend to use 4 x $50 Coles Myer cards less 4 x $20 credits courtesy recent LL promo at First Choice tomorrow - they will price match Dan's.

So 6bot buy equats to eff disc $13/bot - gotta decide between:

Or:

Or:

3. taitt.JPG

Or:

4. laur.JPG

Am leaning Bolly direction - your thoughts?

My favourite NV is Billecart-Salmon but at the prices above I'd get the Taittinger.
Feels like I'm in the SYD F Lounge every time I open a bottle ;)

FWIW all the rebate companies offer double as a promo from time to time.

Kirkland champagne at $19.99 plus tax at Costco in US is going to be tested by one of my partners wives shortly. Meanwhile he gets the Krug and Dom Perignon treatment on his way home from Los Angeles.

I'm not really a champagne drinker but it's my sisters 30th coming up so will be keeping an eye on the deals here!

+1 on the Billecart, never fails to impress even at $70 a bottle... But yes PF the Tattinger (or Bolli) would be a good purchase option to stock up the fridge with...

My favourite is the Billecart too, and I'd pay the extra over the Taittinger. Last few B/C I purchased at Dan's (Nov 13) were about $57 IIRC. Swung a deal with EpiQure too on the spend $1000, get 6 Taittinger deal. Said I wasn't that keen on the Tatts (true) so got 3 Billecart and 3 Tatts instead. :)
