It looks like I am Platinum and Mrs JT is Gold. Mini suite in the process of being booked.
Was the pricing the same as the website?
The website I am looking at is definitely in AUD (specified in the small print).Sorta. TA pointed out that the prices on the web site are US$. A bit sneaky, as they state extras charges as

But the cabin is stated as

with the * saying prices in USD. Very sneaky!!
BTW, according to my TA, the sale starts this Friday

This was an e-mail from her, now closed so I can't follow it up. Check for yourselves.
I believe @straitman recommended plus.Princess cruisers - what package would you suggest? What's the price for a glass of decent wine - more than US$15/glass?

Yes that's the way all cruises work. Deck and location make a price difference for the same cabin style. They've just changed their booking website to how we saw it for a different cruise a couple of weeks ago.The website I am looking at is definitely in AUD (specified in the small print).
However I’m finding the booking process to be very off putting. I have done several mock booking and the prices vary each time. Prices were different to those that @straitman was seeing. The first time I looked the plus package was included now it isn’t. If you want to select the location of your mini suite it costs more.
I’m going to leave it for a while now.
I think it's the top end spirits that tip you into expensive territory.Princess cruisers - what package would you suggest? What's the price for a glass of decent wine - more than US$15/glass?

Me too.
After selecting 1 pax up-front, it gives me

Note the * Prices shown in USD. AND it says prices are per-person based on "double occupancy" .
Thats why I use a TA
Not sure how/why you are getting US $ as we always get it up in AU $.
They are much cheaper on LE and reduced deposit as well.I booked a Mini Suite (it was only $150 more) on Luxury Escapes to earn VFF 1/$, and $75 OBC. Cruisepilot offers 3/$ but it wouldn't let me choose 1 guest.
I'll have breakfast on the ship the last morning, and walk across the road to work!

Booked for 1Can people please confirm when they have booked and whether it's for 1 or 2 and I will add it to post #1
It's quite possible that might happen. If you are happy with your cabin and location then don't upgrade. I have certainly seen complaints on CC where it's happened. Your idea of nice cabin and Princess idea are not likely compatible.Booked for 1.
TA has asked me if I want the 'auto upgrade' option. Does anyone have experience with this? I suspect they'll upgrade to the worst-end of the next category - partial obstructions, near elevators. Reckon that's the case?
Called CruisePilot just now to select 1 pax. They were able to, but we still had to pay for 2 pax. I selected the Mini-Suite (which the website says $1200pp), but if only 1 pax, then it's $23xx ... yea, nah! not going to book thru CruisePilot.Cruisepilot offers 3/$ but it wouldn't let me choose 1 guest
Silly as it sounds. Always look at booking directly via the web site as a comparison. It gives a good central point as a comparison.Called CruisePilot just now to select 1 pax. LE doesn't open at work - will try at home and update.
Travelling solo on a cruise always requires payment for 2 (less taxes for the nonexistent 2nd person). Some ships have solo cabins but you have to book them quickly. I found the solo cabin on Royal Caribbean Anthem of the Seas too small, I won't book one againbut if only 1 pax, then it's $23xx ... yea, nah! not going to book thru CruisePilot.
The plus package is roughly equivalent to internet and 2-3 G&Ts.Travelling solo on a cruise always requires payment for 2 (less taxes for the nonexistent 2nd person). My mini suite from LE was $2106 (with $75 OBC). That doesn't include wifi or drinks, but i think I'll add a package for $65 per day. A wifi add-on was nearly half that, and though I don't drink, a G&T while vegging is always nice.
