What browser are you using?

Not sure what he is using but I am seeing the same thing with Firefox 50.0.2 browser.

And I have just noticed that the cursor moving up a line has returned to the firefox world as a bug that has just returned.Opflyfail.jpg

I have only listed flights since I retired.:) I've no idea on flights for the previous 50 years

I'm sure he appreciates you volunteering his time! :p

It's a known issue right now.

Anything further on this - has anyone had their Flight Tracker banner return?

This has been discussed but at this stage there is no update.

Last update was end of November. Any chance there's some news since then to suggest this might get fixed? Is OpenFlights own flight tracker behaving as it should, I wonder?

Cheers,
Matt.

I believe OpenFlights banners still work, however any updates to their system will not translate over to the system that was developed for use here as it was slightly modified, before development stopped for approximately 3 years. In 2015 they then moved OpenFlights to Github for future development, but that seems to have stalled too, with the last update coming nearly 2 years ago.

Save for the odd quirk, the system is robust enough on AFF to display your travels in the side section below your avatar, and a link should take any member to a map with additional controls. However, I would imagine banners at this stage are dead in the water.

If Openflights is on GitHub does that mean the source code is freely available? If so, why not just take a dump of the current code and implement the AFF version in-house and develop it as required?

This may be something that is looked into in the future, but development does seem to be a bit tardy and even I wouldn't know where to begin with re-implementation of the current version, nor how that might affect the database of flights we already have saved by members.

One of these days I'll get around to downloading all my flights, putting them in the correct order and upload....

Done another download from BA97 but still haven't culled it so it will upload correctly to AFF Flight Tracker...

Yes, I can hear the rhyming "slacker". I've even been offered help from two members :o

If I didn't offer help, I can probably take a look too!

I recently created a profile and imported my flights. However nothing shows in the sidebar. Does it take time or is there a setting? I skimmed the whole thread and looked through my Profile settings without luck. Cheers
