We're staying at the Hilton - me being a Gold we're guaranteed complimentary breakfast ... :p

Sorry to interrupt but I just found this, maybe for those who are extra keen for an early morning (possibly hung over) Sunday breakfast:-

On Sunday 25 October 2009 the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge will play host to Breakfast on the Bridge between 6.30am and 8.30am.

Breakfast on the Bridge - Home

I was wondering if this would be on while the AFF do was on. I saw it on TV I think. Looks interesting, but 6:30 is a little early for my breakfast, especially when I'm eating on a road.

Edit: Found this in the FAQ:

Will I be served breakfast on the bridge?

No, Breakfast on the Bridge is a BYO event. You are encouraged to bring your own breakfast and a picnic rug.

I'm not going to bring my breakfast with me. As if!

Is there any other kind?

OT, but the ADL QP mixes up a wicked bloody mary..

That's a great hangover cure. There used to be a fab little cafe called Florent on Gansevoort St in NYC that serves a bloody mary along with brekky. It instantly cures any hangover. Though in my case probably more out of shock in reaction to the spiciness more than anything else. :p Unfortunately said cafe has now closed.

I've never been hung over before :p

I think I'll stick nominally with a full fry-up for breakfast to try and mitigate the effects and presence of alcohol. Plus a bit of a run/jog to offset some the fat content in the breakfast.

So you'll be bringing your joggers in November? :p

Bumpers here.

Thought I'd better do this since it is less than one month out, plus I should do it because I'll need to know what I need to do by next week before I go to South Africa.

From what I can see, the tasks are so far:
  • If you're coming, make sure you're a Platinum on the attendees list
  • If you're a WP, join us in MEL for a F Lounge run, and help another non-WPer on the way ;)
  • If you're coming on the Saturday Tarmac Tour, register as a member of the General Public for the 24/10/2009 10am (unless we manage to get 15 people coming for this)
  • When do we prepay for the other events as necessary? And how? (Will you take Amex? ;) :p)

Yes, an absolute definite I won't be there, as Mrs LW is now 34 weeks and I'd guess that those dates are very close to when she will give birth.

From somebody who has attended all FT AGM's and ozfest's, this is killing me that I haven't made an AFF meet yet :(.

Hope I can come meet you all. Should get my cast off next week, then learn how to walk again. Haven't used my leg for 7 weeks mmmmm .....!!!

I have just gone on the Airside Tarmac Tours website to book the tarmac tour for the other half and myself. However it seems like you can't confirm the booking online; instead you'd have to wait for them to contact you.

I speculated earlier that I would be a non-starter for the Tarmac Tour (and a big :(, as I'm sure I would enjoy it) and any other daytime activities on the Saturday, I can now confirm (that I'm a non-starter for those).

Up for everything else on Fri/Sat/Sun, a 1730 flight home to MEL on the Sunday notwithstanding.

I may have mentioned that the Tarmac tours can often be booked out well beforehand.

Since there are only the 4 weeks left until this, I suggest those who wish to do it post this and/or advise the organisers.

There will be some updates later today and over the next few days.

However, as mentioned in a previous post, we do fall short of numbers for a group booking on the Airport Tarmac Tour - so I ask that those who want to go on the tour make a public booking for the 10 a.m. Saturday tour.

Umm, here's what I can confirm now.

Friday drinks

Saturday dinner

Saturday drinks

Sunday lunch

I'm asking my dad whether he wants to come do the tarmac tour, so will have to wait on the outcome of that.
