We are in the same boat as kpc. Two to the airport for a 1655 flight and can invite 4 into the J lounge.

I guess at worst there will be enough for a cab or two.

I'd say there's a few of us heading to the airport after the lunch.

I'm on the same flight as kpc (QF549 at 1715), so here's another that will be going to the airport (with another 2 J lounge guest spots to my name) :)

I am happy to help with transport to the airport ex lunch as well as its on my way home and can guest two as well.

Likewise, I’ll be driving and will have a 4WD, so could have 6 seats free, so hopefully no need for taxi’s.

Happy to drop people off at the airport after the brekky creek lunch; Will have the car and 3 empty seats.

Do not even need a reward.will have to get back to mrsdrron.

I for one will be looking for two seats from the Brekky Creak to the airport :p

With the number of people asking and offering, I’ll just say, I shall have a car and will take whoever wants a lift on the day. I see no reason to make plans concrete, other than I’ll see you there.

I'll have a hire car ... will use in Morning for Golf then to Breakky Ck and drop off at airport 4 spare seats*.

* (with Golf Clubs, luggage capacity slightly limited).
How big is the car? ;) I may actually get better by the time of the gathering....

Have RSVP'd using that online Google rego form. Will be at dinner on Sat & the golf on Sun but if the past is anything to go by my golfing exploits strike more of a resemblance to the ice sport 'curling' than a sporting activity that takes place on a fairway.

I have done a spot of buggy driving at Cape Schanck in Victoria but in hindsight navigating sand dunes & grassy knolls is probably best left to ATVs, quad bikes or an episode of Top Gear.

See y'all there! :p

Are you interested in playing golf on the Sunday?

Unfortunately we have already filled up our 8 spots. So unless there is further interest and we can get another 4 spots on our booking you may have to go the top of the stand-by list.

P.S There is no guarantee I will have recovered in time by then anyway.

Do spectators/caddies/caddy-wannabes count as 1 spot?

Can we have groups of 3 rather than 4? Or not allowed by the club rules? I do realise that if there are more groups the average cost per person goes up, e.g. due to buggy rental cost, for a start....

An update from me:

Because I'm forced to depart for my overseas trip on 25/10 rather than my original date of 23/10, I'm now going to all events of AFF #4, except for the Golf.

Oyama, Groove Train and Vapiano have been booked, although the Vapiano reservation probably now has to be revised for more people than I booked for! At least with our mass we should have a nice area upstairs of the restaurant where we can sit.

Generally they send people out in groups of 4, if it’s a busy day then groups of 3 would only work if a stranger joined each group, which doesn’t make sense. Though a spectator would, but I’d imagine the club would be asking for a steep fee to watch, as they’re losing money not letting a regular paying golfer in the group instead.

I don’t think spectators other than the occasional girlfriend really flies that well at a golf course, of course there’s always a table at the clubhouse you can wait at.

I think I remember somewhere in the thread that there was a charge for both players and spectators alike.

Moreover to paying the fee that I'm not going to the golf, but I couldn't play golf to save my life, and I'd be kicked off the course straight away for not having the requisite pants in the dress code.

And "occasional girlfriend"??! Come on, not every golfer is Tiger Woods...

Not every has to ride in a buggy - I'm quite happy to walk (in fact I prefer it).

As far as I am aware spectators do not count as a spot per se.

As far as I am aware we have been allocated 2 tee-off slots which gives us 8 golfers. Need to get in touch with MAX_1 to try and get an extra tee-off slot.

I think the cost difference for 3 people over 4 people is only marginal and not a stumbling block.

If 2 or 4 in the group then pay green fee of $70 per person for golf and $38 for cart so a cost of $89 for game. If 3 in group then pay green fee of $70 per person for golf and $76 for 2 carts which works out ~$95 per person for game asuuming splitting the cost of carts 3 ways.

I think I remember somewhere in the thread that there was a charge for both players and spectators alike.
Need to confirm with MAX_1 but I do not recall having to pay for non-golfers. I could be wrong though.

Not sure what the course is like but in Perth some of our "championship" courses you aren't allowed to walk and only have the option of the buggy. Would be worth finding out.
