Those type of courses or resort courses indicate this is to save time. In reality it's to raise revenue with cart hire.

I doubt this course would have such a rule.

FWIW, there are some of the Major Sandbelt course here in Melbourne that only permit the use of a cart in comp. play with a doctors certificate.

I just came across this thread and as it turns out I am currently flying into BNE on Oct 19 and booked to fly BNE-MEL on Oct. 22 to meet/stay with friends there.

I could possibly change the BNE-MEL flight to Saturday or possibly Sunday to permit attending the Gathering; I will check with MEL friends about possibly delaying arrival.

I found the Gathering program; is there a consolidated list of likely attendees updated past post #99?

Thanks.

Will get details and post here tomorrow and address all concerns.

One this is for sure, if one wants to walk, then its your perogative. I booked buggies, imagining that after Saturday night , some players may not be up to walking...

So it will be up to each pair in a four to decide for a buggy.

I will aslo check tomorrow for an extra tee time.

Sorry no one has got back to you sooner. Post #342 has the latest attendee list, plus there’s 1 more on top of that.

We’d certainly love to see an international member at any of the events if you can spend a little more time in Brisbane, if not, a few of us might be able to say hello before the event anyway!

Are you interested in playing golf on the Sunday?

Unfortunately we have already filled up our 8 spots. So unless there is further interest and we can get another 4 spots on our booking you may have to go the top of the stand-by list.

P.S There is no guarantee I will have recovered in time by then anyway.

JohnK I'm assuming someone has filled your golf spot you've vacated so if I can waitlist SO for a round in case of cancellations or in case you get another 3 to make up the 4 required.

It's no big deal if I can't spectate/caddy...whatever the rules are I'll just go with the flow.

Hi Mr Robin; Glad that you might be able to join us.
I think it has been 4 years since we last met; you attended Ozfest 3 in Brisbane in 2006. There are some new people around but then you may know some of the usual suspects.:rolleyes:

I haven't given up hope of playing yet. :D I was hoping to have a game of golf this weekend although it still may be a little too early.

Either way there is no one on the stand-by list so your partner can have the next spot available and hopefully MAX_1 can get another tee-off spot for us and we can have 3 groups playing and no one misses out.

I do not think we will have a problem with the odd spectator or two on the day.

Hi Mr. Bear. :) Thank you for the post. Very good memory you have. As well a attending Ozfest 3 in Brisbane, I also attended Ozfest 2 in Sydney along with my two children who arrived in OZ independently of me and each other.

That's excellent news for anyone that wants to spectate. I should probably go for the exercise, but I have to comply with the dress code for starters...

Spectators should be aware that it maybe hazardous to their health, intentions and results do not always align when it comes to my shots!

Helmets aren't allowed in the dress code. That's gotta suck. :p

Buggy spot for me thanks. My knee starts to give up on the back nine if walking.

I'll put $15 to a share of a buggy - gotta put my clubs somewhere ...

I will definitely need a buggy but still not sure whether I will have recovered in time. :(

Don't you want to pay half the cost for use of the buggy? ;)

jrobin, great to see you posting here. Look forward to catching up with you. I do remember you and your children. The years doth eld my gait, though ;)

I confirm that I am still a starter and willl be happy to either share a buggy or walk. I'll come prepared for either option.
