To hire a 24 seater bus will cost about $450 for the weekend. A 12 seater about $250. I can drive both so no problems there. Unfortunately the public transport here is non-existent so it is either a bus or lots of people with cars and mine is very small. ;)

I'd guess 12 would be enough - my experience is that you get more people to the dinners than to the sightseeing events.

But perhaps it's time to start getting some feel for numbers on the events. Of course these will be changing right up till the last minute, but still something to plan with is good.

I have been quiet in this thread, really should get my stuff sorted and book. Here's hoping an airline sale is about to start. A pm heads up if there is a sale or happy hour would be very welcome. Now... Which hotel?

Hey Mal
Every sale that has dates in October have excluded this weekend.
Fingers cross that you get lucky (with your ticket!)

I think this is the last weekend of the (NSW, ACT, ? others) school hols so I'll be surprised if there is a sale...

Well I've bitten the bullet and booked flights and accommodation. I suspect an airline sale will not eventuate (though who really knows).

Arriving QF834 @ 1755 on 7 Oct, departing QF819 @ 1710 on 9 Oct (a bit more exxy than the previous flight, but that would have made things a bit rushed, assuming Sunday lunch is on the agenda).

Staying at Diamant Hotel (what seems like a reasonable deal via HotelClub)

Looking forward to the weekend!

Good assumption, :p. I'll have a draft itinerary for comment very soon.

My flights:

Friday:
Flight DJ 1218
14:15 Depart Brisbane
17:05 Arrive Canberra

Sunday:
Flight DJ 1227
18:00 Depart Canberra
18:35 Arrive Brisbane

Will probably end up at the Diamant, but really should be booking at Rydges (Still have those gift cards I need to use by Dec this year!)

Will book a hotel in the next few days.

I have also booked these flights tonight, so shall be joining you, though will be going to the Diamanté as I booked that a while ago.

Thanks for the tip Mark!

Would be curious to see a moar recent attendee list..?

I'm still thinking about going, but I'm not sure what's happening work wise yet..

Ok am off to do some driving this weekend to confirm the timing for our sight seeing tour.

However, I have no idea of a restaurant for Saturday night.

Do any of the other CBR people know of a restaurant that would be suitable? If so please PM or post and I will follow it up.

Also, a quick confirmation of numbers would be good as well.

Thanks
