Cool. I used points/pay on a J seat. My first E190 flight as well.

yep, I'm up the front too :)

I think this one was the recently emailed discount code. I've booked so many flights I cannot remember which is which :)

I am Platinum too. Just managed to get a JASA CBR to HBA on 30 Nov. ETA 16.10 on QF1015. Have not finslised return or accom yet.

T42 is very popular, I have eaten there quite often also . . . . . and for golf, a favourite course of ours is Claremont http://www.claremontgolf.com.au/ it's a members club, but like many these days, offers public access.

Royal Tasmanian Yacht Club a nice spot too. It is the other side of the Sydney to Hobart. For members but also offers public sign in access. Is in Sandy Bay before you get to the Casino from the city.

So I have decided to take a week off which will include heading to HBA for AFF Gathering #7 , so samh004 , you can move me from Gold to Platinum for the event. I have spent hours today doing my head in , on the VA website ( and we know what thats like) to try and incorporate a status run / mini holiday before or after HBA .......and still not any closer to deciding what I'm doing . Annoyed. It would help if i could narrow down what i want to do before/after, too many options floating around ....anyway , for the Friday night roughly what time do we look like heading out for dinner/drinks ?

Having heard from jdevereux3 separately, I'm really looking forward to this dinner. :)

This dinner sounds great. Really looking forward to it. Been to HBA five times over the past four years on short trips. Have done the markets and Mona but not the brewery yet. Very keen to see the brewery.

I'm currently in LRE but will add your name to the correct list when I get back to the GC. Should be about 21 plats now!

Drink start times will probably depend on when it gets dark. Usually we start while there's still light and move to dinner when there isn't. So between 1730 and 1830 I expect. Do they have DST?

Sunset in late November is ~7.30pm. Yes, Tassie has DST and during high summer there's still some light in the sky until about 10pm (due to our southern latitude). Compensates for our dark winter.

While I'm sure we wont be doing drinks at 10pm, well at least not pre-dinner drinks in any case, I'm sure that'll be taken into account for planning appropriate kickoff times.

I will look for somewhere central when I am there this weekend. In order to make it easy for people arriving at different times, I will try for one where we can have a room to ourselves, with dining at our leisure.

Have you been in contact with Josh, he's been there all week and knows who to talk to etc?

Knowing some of the people who are coming, my bet is on 10 AM. :p

Yes, well sunrise is at 430am on November 28 if you're keen on an early start. Don't think the pubs will be open then - may have to raid the mini bar.

Booked my flight out. Not much avail left that is cheap Sun night or afternoon. Leaving HBA on JQ 724 at 7.35 pm on 1 Dec.

Put me down as gold. Good excuse to earn the 50 SCs I find myself in need of. I'll have to fly home Sunday morning though.
