I'll be likely be flying down Friday evening, and back to Melbourne Sunday evening.

Has anyone picked their accommodation yet?

Unfortunately I have to move from Gold to Silver for this event . Have been tentatively invited to a close friends 40th Birthday in Mackay for Sat 30th November . Will wait for the official invite before I move to Bronze.

Sorry to hear that, but I'm sure a 40th will be a lot of fun too!

It will be . It's shaping up to be a busy 2 weeks with back to back 40th birthdays on opposite sides of the country . My original plan was to do AFF Gathering 7 and fly SYD-HBA-PER-SYD now I have look at the most optimized way to fly SYD-MKY-PER-SYD

Darn, I've already booked myself a JASA.

That said, thanks for the heads up on this.

The direct flight on the Friday is at 07:30, and the indirect options aren't much better, latest leaving at 09:15. Also, the Friday appears to already be sold out for the sale, standard fares are $149-159.

The direct return on Sunday leaves at 11:45, same for Monday, but you can leave in the afternoon and arrive back to BNE very late. Also sold out on the cheapies. :(

Edit: Supposedly this comes at the expense of the OOL-HBA route, which has now been cancelled. Funnily enough, was just reading a story over the weekend about GC tourism and how this one particular family interviewed wouldn't come if it wasn't for the direct service from HBA.

Also, jetlagger was booked on that service I believe.

TT have MEL-HBA from 21 Oct-mid Dec for $34.95.

Sale lasts until midday Tues, so get in quick if you would like a JQ price match.

OK, I'm in. Flights booked TO Hobart. Now need to work on digs and the flight back. Why isn't there a Hilton in Hobart?

There used to be a Sheraton!

The stupid thing is that I will spend ages trying to maximise points and status when looking for a hotel. This time could be better spent doing other things. But I'm sure most who read this will understand

What flight/s are you on? Once you post, a friendly mod can update the appropriate post at the top of the thread so we can keep track of participants. :)

back up plan if I miss that flight is

TT426, arriving 1930

I hope I make the Virgin Flight :). Nevertheless it was a way of spending a few FlyBuys points to have a Plan B
I don't have return flights. I am partly needlessly procrastinating and partly awaiting some sort of program
Look forward to catching up again

Penegal, jdevereau3 and I had a bit of a chat last Friday. We are close to firming up a program, but here is a bit of an idea:

Friday 29th Nov
Dinner and Drinks central Hobart as people arrive

Saturday 30th November
Salamanca Market
MOMA
Cascade Brewery tour
... the order of these is yet to be finalised

Dinner somewhere fancy

Sunday 1st December
Recovery breakfast somewhere
or Golf
or Tour of Port Arthur

Departure
or Dinner for those staying until Monday

Monday 2nd December
Departure
