AFF Medical Meet?

Fantastic - seems we have convenors now - I'll have a chat with them. I would guess that most people would want a one day sort of thing, with a dinner - I can imagine a weekend would be best. Which city we have this in is going to be a consideration too. Is Sydney central to most, or do we need to move north/west/south?

Sydney is fine for me, unless you want to make it in PER.
I feel of you're goin to the trouble of organising it, you can pick the location and we'll come to you. Ability to stay at the/a Hilton would be nice.

Sydney is fine-3 SPG properties to 1 hilton!:p;):D
Only problem is fitting in between locums and trips.

I would have thought Sydney to be the most central location to the most number - after all, flying is part of the process. An alternate would be MEL (with multiple Hiltons).

Other than my "surviving malignant melanomas", I have an alternate subject: "Pro Bono work for terminally ill patients".

having looked at teh prices fro teh weekends i prefer there must be something going on!
I think i'll be using my 99dollar night!

I've spent too much time on committees
disappointingly All i could think of was "consumer perspective" :(

Surviving is the important part of that statement lindsay !

What about "how many X-rays are too many x-rays?"

I had actually missed this thread until now.... However as someone who has literally spent their entire life in a hospital, I reckon I may qualify for for a chair. I would be happy to help organise/attend.

Having been given the all clear yesterday I could also suggest "surviving prostate cancer" :D :D :D :D

Congratulations! That's great news.

Weekends are good (thank goodness my RMO days are behind me, no more shift work!). I have a slight preference for anywhere but SYD, but am still happy enough to go there :)

Hmmm now how to do a poster or oral presentation to get work to pay for it .... ;)

I'd like to throw my hat into the ring for this gathering. Have worked in hospitals and community health as social worker for a few years. It would give me a chance to meet many of you who have shared your travel experiences which have been of immense assistance to my travel planning. :)

I'm having some trouble with the PM stuff on iPhone but would like to set up a poll with dates and city/venue in conjunction with beardoc and coolumbla. Could a friendly mod please help?

To the organising committee, any update(s) on this? :)

It would appear that Friday 21 December and Saturday 22 December may be 2 good opportunities for an AFF Medical meet up in conjuction with the Christmas gatherings organised already as a few of you have already committed for these events.

Executive decision!!

And after no discussion with Princess or beardoc as well

After clarifying with munitaIP the initial medical meet will be during the weekend of the AFF christmas do
We can always have another one next year !
Even more importantly MUnitaIP has offered to assist in the organisation!

So to get an idea as to if there is any interest in an academic part or just a social event
Here is the ubiquitos survey in its own thread!
