AFF Member Stock Discussion

Wow 2 stocks we hold have bids today so Empired and Valmec both had good bounces. Both bids were a surprise to us.

I saw EPD shoot up on the offer. I sold my holding earlier this year. I made a profit but that bounce today would have been nice. Oh well, that's trading!

We were there in Empired for a long time @Mr_Orange and we had some way back in 2013. We added to our holding when the price slumped later on so it took a very long time.
Valmec was a company we would go past just off Leach Highway going to Perth Airport. We studied their story and bought a significant number when they were improving their numbers.
Sometimes patience can be rewarded and sometimes not.
For a trade we bought into Fenix which is FEX. They are digging and trucking then shipping high grade iron ore.

I think its good, a bit of a bump to take the exuberance out of the market and yes, the chance to pick up some discounts.

With 10,000 cases of covid in Los Angeles county in a week there is another wave of problems striking the world with the highly contagious Delta variant.
We are neutral on the market and would only buy a bargain if something presented itself.

Today we participated in a purchase of a stock sell down in Cash Converters at 22.5 cents. Hopefully there will be a good result announced in a few weeks plus another dividend.

Well.. I probably have 0 idea of what I was looking at… but it seems an interesting historical ..er document...

You have me curious now, I have no idea what it means

I'm not going to spoonfeed anyone, however, it shows a larger, repeating and predictable economic cycle that, in certain countries, has existed for hundreds of years. If you're really interested, start with Fred Harrison's work.

During the last financial year we bought quite a pile of Cromwell units which are CMW to add to our income from distributions. The other one is the CharterHall CQE which also pays quarterly. Earning income while you sleep does seem to work for us.

We should stay away from imaginary assets....
We are looking forward to reporting season.
There has been quite a bit of inflation in products we deal in.
