In which timezone? (oops, here we go again  ).

Is that actual timezone or body clock timezone or timezone you'd really like it to be or timezone you were in yesterday (by elapsed or chronological time) or ...?

Nothing to do with longitude or lattitude. Its all in the attitude 8) .

Was reading again last night about the Gimli Glider ... and was once again reminded of the importance of clearly defining whether using metic or imperial units of measure  .

I did not know metric time varied by height. Must be a pain to reset all the time when in a/c climbing/descending, or is the difference small enough to ignore?

The adjustment is simple. Its the rounding error that makes it difficult for overweight people.

And not picked up by several people, including when quoting the SG of the fuel (which is where the miscalculation was)! It was the newest 767 in the AC fleet and the only one using metric fuel measures.

Couple that with a technical fault in the gauges that meant the only way to "know" the fuel on board was to drip the tanks.

And then add that the flight was a multi-sector trip and the original fueller did not know they intended not to refuel at the mid-point and so the fuel on board seemed ok to him.

Pilots flying skill was the difference between safety and disaster.

Who would have thought that Boeing would make a metric plane.

Only partly metric ... the altimeter is still in feet :P . And the speed is indicated in nautical miles :P .

Frenzied Friday :? when was that?
Wednesday about a month ago :P .

I am sure there is possibly some theorem in the idea of metric time, but why is an event on a Wednesday referred to as Frezied Friday?

Sorry to say but Yada Yada is out of the contest now.

I am still in with a chance but serfty would have to be in the box seat. It all depends on the posting rate over the next few days.

The adjustment is simple. Its the rounding error that makes it difficult for overweight people.

Why is that? Does metric time depend on weight as well, or fat fingers make it hard to adjust watch, or a correlation between weight and smarts?
