& That was post 28,931.... (this is post 28942) :P
According to new version your post is post# 85738 and as there was 1058 posts remaining until the 30,000th post I will adjust the new posting target to be post# 86796.

This is post# 86505 so there are 291 posts remaining for this competition to end.

I guess our next competition will be AFF's 90,000 post thread!

Post Count is now correct

Sorry

Who will it be?

Yada Yada 15/05/06 @ 10:00am (AEST)
Mal 16/05/06 @ 12:00pm (AEST)
Kiwi Flyer 17/05/06 @ 2:00pm (AEST)
JohnK 22/05/06 @ 11:27am (AEST)
serfty 24/05/06 @ 11:30am (AEST)

The tension mounts in the arena!
A bit of an anti climax as it has become AFF's 86,796 post thread after the post #'s were renumbered.

Only 236 posts to go!

One option for any future threads is to return to actual posts (less deleted) instead of post # as the post # now is not accurate.

That method is also not accurate - it relies on someone noticing the post counter on main page and seeing the last thread posted to.

Is that not accurate enough for this particular requirement? Or do you expect the posting time really needs to be defined down to the closest minute in order to determine the "winner". I would think just knowing the day on which the milestone is achieved will be enough it identify the closest guess.

I'm with NM on this one. For the purposes being used here it is accurate enough.

Of course for this particular game it is perfectly fine.

But for any future such games (if any) it may well not be close enough when guesses are close together.

The post# is now not relevant. AFF does not have 86,000+ posts.

So I think using actual posts is accurate enough and we have managed in the past to be able to track the nth post.

If any disputes occur then our scrutineer, oz_mark, will be able to adjudicate.

Keeping an ever watchful eye over this competition.

The judges decision is final. blah blah blah!

I'd rather you keep an eye on the road, not the camera behind me (yes I found it).

Target reached.

Oz_mark would you please update the winner's podium so we can close this competition.
