ALL QF's 330's to get lay flat Business seating - Including Domestic

Does anyone have any insight or thoughts on when the 2 workhorses for QF3 & QF4, ( EBL & EBG ) might get a re-furb. ?

Got a flight booked for next year and just wanted to know if I may get a good one

Everything should be complete by about Aug by estimation.

Wouldn't surprise me if those two aircraft are left to last as they have the next best business product (compared to recliners) but equally would expect other Refurb aircraft to be rotated onto QF3/4 as they are complete in the meantime.

Thanks moa, My bookings are Sept next year so good chance of a new one, ( newer than current )
 
EBC back in service as QF589 making it the 9th 332 and 16th total. EBD the likely replacement currently doing freight runs.
QPI remains in the shed for minor maint

I am praying your estimation is right. Have an A330-200 booked back in Nov 16 and currently Skybed. Was somewhat worried that they would leave these to last... fingers crossed.
 
Flew on my first reconfigured 330 in J today on QF762 PER to MEL. Was really impressed and while I have not flown the new Virgin 330 J, for a 3.5 hour flight it is hard to fault the Qantas seats. Mrs waflyer was across the aisle f3om me and it was actually way better than I was expecting. The CSM, Max, and his staff were awesome. The only small fault was that they initially forgot about Mrs waflyer's special meal order, but tgis was quickly rectified. Can't wait to fly the new J again (unfortunately my return flight is one of the old configurations).

moa999 will be able to advise but is it not relatively infrequent for this A332 to visit these QFi airports? Is it a sign of the 'pressure' of the Christmas holiday rotations?

EBL is one of the two remaining SkyBedI 332s in the fleet (along with EBG. Originally four aircraft with EBH and EBI that have now gone to the RAAF). These aircraft operate mostly international routes. Commonly used on QF3/4 (SYD-HNL) and QF5/6 (SYD-SIN) but also a bunch of other routes

With some pax paying more for QF business class than SQ First, it is a real shame QF can't dedicate a refurbished aircraft to Shanghai.
 
Pleasant surprise this mornings flight was swapped out to the new configuration and really impressed by the fitout. 01450938570.jpg

Only comment is the leg clearance whilst reclined appears to be to small in my opinion, next flight will select 1a
 
QPI returned to service today.

QPH is in BNE but not sure when refurb will start - probably not until after the holiday season.

It sounds like the table needs an update.

What changes do I need to make?

From 23/11 table (think your latest)

EBC from Col 4 to 8
QPE from Col 6 to 7
QPF to active in Col 7

Should line up with

Refurb complete
A330-300 7 / 10 - QPA, QPB, QPC, QPD, QPE, QPF, QPI
A330-200 9 / 18 - EBA, EBB, EBC, EBE, EBF, EBJ, EBK, EBS, EBV

Next refurbs are speculation, but guessing QPH and EBD, both be complete around end-Jan (if EBD goes in we can delete the hated Col 4 Config)

Still too much roulette unfortunately - it's still VA for my trans-continentals.
