ALL QF's 330's to get lay flat Business seating - Including Domestic

Looks like a 333 with the new J suites is operating QF3 tonight according to the Expert Flyer seat map.

Both Flightaware and FR24 are showing the rego for QF130 as being QPD.

Google shows QF130 ex PVG arriving at gate 8 in SYD at 2130.

As the QF3 is delayed to 2230 tonight I'm assuming that QPD is the operating a/c as USA flights often depart from those gates.

Also would not be surprised if QPH-QPJ remain in old paint for another 12-18mths until their C-Check comes around

The repaint is used to check for issues with the fuselage externally, fatigue etc. They'll most likely do these closer to / just before their C check comes around.

EBS was scheduled to operate to SIN yesterday but was subbed for QPH at last minute, presumably due to a technical issue with EBS.

QPF (which only went back into service yesterday after refurb) was due to operate to HKG today but was subbed for QPH operating a delayed HKG service.

If there are no tech issues with other A330s tomorrow, QPH should go in for refurb.

I had the pleasure of the new config on QF51 (330-200) on Nov 22nd and QF24 (330-300) both in 4A and was really impressed with the privacy in sitting and sleeping modes. The 2nd toilet and cloth seats make the 300 a much more comfortable experience for a long flight. The drinks and lunch service on QF51 took nearly 3 hours to complete ughhh.rsz_1dsc_0190.jpgrsz_dsc_0194.jpg

QFH looks to be going into refurb

Flight aware today says(hopefully no changes)
QPH arrived back from Hong Kong to Brisbane this morning
QPI Bris-Tokyo
EBS Bris-Singapore
QPF Bris-Hong Kong

Confirmed on YSSY that no more refurbs on 333s till next year.

QPI (already refurbed) is in for a 10-day check,
So until Xmas will be 6 refurbs of 9 330s flying

Just put an upgrade request in for QF24 from BKK to SYD on the 16/1. Its a non-refurb but Im guessing on my luck of having last minute swaps, it can work both ways. Flight availability is showing J9 C5 D0 I0 Y0 B0 H0 K0 M0 L0 G0. I am I correct in reading that my chances look good for an upgrade? Flex economy tickets still being sold.

It all depends firstly on how many other upgrade requests there are for that flight and what status those pax are eg there could be several WP's with requests in also. Secondly one month out is still a long way off when talking about upgrade chances as there are often last minute J bookings or pax flyiing on other dates that may change to your date.

I don't mean to rain on your parade but I wouldn't bank on the upgrade request being confirmed. :-|

Economy on a QF333 has to be better than the EK777 flight that leaves a little later. Some of those EK flights are my benchmarks for how bad Y can get..but thats another topic.

The availability is actually:

QF 024 J9 C9 D7 Y9 B9 H9 /BKK SYD 1 1815 0740+1E0/333 9:25

This is based on an AU PoS.

In contrast EK418 is 100% full in Y. Given you're a QF gold, you'd actually have a pretty good chance at an op-up on EK418 compared to QF24.

Apologies for the slightly OT post but just had an interesting call from virgin apologising that there was a late aircraft change on my flight from Perth to Sydney today and it would not be the new J product. As compensation they would be crediting my account with 60,000 ff points for the disappointment of being in the old product.

I thought VA A330 refurb was complete? Not a 737 sub? Suspect QF will do the same thing once they have a few more complete.
