ALL QF's 330's to get lay flat Business seating - Including Domestic

Bring it on - I already suffered them to HNL on two occasions LOL!!!

I've put in for an upgrade on my next QF20 trip so refurb would be very nice as I am yet to sample the new J (my last 3 upgrade requests have failed on QF20 as J is always full)

When was that? Must have been over a year ago. QF has no B767 aircraft.

I didn't read it as pax was on the 763 Dreamtime recliner but they were tired of Skybed Mk1 on EBL or EBG as opposed to either Skybed Mk2's or new J suites on 333's or 332's that have full flat beds.

Looks like I'll be on one of the ones UpInTheAir posted a photo of from PER-MEL tomorrow. Bit of a bummer, would love to try the new business suite, but was limited with what flight I could choose and can't complain as my points upgrade cleared 24hrs out as a lowly Bronze with a non-flex fare.

Can't offer any good news on the return flight today QF776.. Same configuration :(
Staff are great though :)

Reported on YSSY that pax on QF127 today (Friday) will see the freshly refurbed VH-QPG, so it won't be going to paint. That will make 9 333s.

Not clear what will replace it, EBM arrived in BNE late Thu, and QPJ arriving in MEL Fri morning

QPJ is flying QF29 sat morning which will likely to be swapped with QF98 flying to Brisbane arriving Sunday morning. Hope this ends up to the Brisbane Hanger for final 333 refurb.

Yesterday we did a long cut to go PER-MEL-SYD to have 2 refurbed A330s and they were both lovely in business class.

Today's QF98 is showing 1x2x1, looks like QPJ is coming back as QF30 to MEL

My next flight (QF775) on Monday looks to be showing 2x2x2... does this mean I'll get a skybed of some kind?

Maybe, but more likely one of the five remaining Recaro/Millennium birds.. Search back a few pages for Dangers guide on the difference

Yes you are right. As QPJ is the only non refurb, then this is likely what happens:

16/4 QF29/30
17/4 QF29/30
18/4 QF29/98
19/4 QF61/62
20/4 QF61/62 (unfortunately I am on this QF61)

then on 21/4 is not swapped with QF97 and QF61 and 97 are with new configuration, so it may end up in the hanger on 21/4.

What does the seat map look like? 2-2-2 alone doesn't say much.

Not sure.. That's why I asked the experts :)
Just checked expert flyer and that's what was showing with the random occupied, blocked and available.. No particular pattern..

It's the same old configuration I had last week.. And to make things worse my window seat was taken by a family with a small grizzly child :(
Sleeping sitting up..
I tried the QF experience.. I'm back to VA after this trip.
Correction.. The family had their window seat stolen and they were being very nice and accommodating.. It was a doofus that stole their window seat that lead to my middle aisle seat.. Family were all very apologetic and offered to move.. But of course it made more sense for me to take the empty seat as they were settled in. Very nice people :)

I have tried to search to no avail (not having much joy out of the app)...

My parents have asked if its better to have a centre pair or a centre seat and a window seat? If it's the latter what would the best combinations be?
Currently as PS they can see from Row 5 back, but T-80 isn't for some time yet.

No great pairings for couples, but best of probably the odd-numbered A/E combination where you are separated by the aisle only, or any of the centre pairs where you have a divider/ foot well in between

according to Fred C on the YYSY forum QPJ will remain in brisbane from the 23rd April unless needed. Refit and check for QPJ will begin on the 3rd May.

Weird to be planned to sit there for over a week

Although Qantas does seem to hold 737 operational spares occasionally

The QPJ refit seems to co-incide with the reduction in A330 services on SYD-HKG to 6x weekly from 2 May to 17 July. Perhaps there isn't too much slack left in the A330-300 fleet at the moment to allow major maintenance until services are reduced. YSSY also seems to report that QPJ will be undergoing a check, which might explain the two month period - although didn't QPH/QPI not undergo checks?
