1 in 4. You definitely haven't had the best of luck but at least you got one.

This was a different flight time.. So maybe that makes a difference.. Would prefer the suite on the early morning flights but it was nice :)

HA's N380HA out of maintenance and operating HA444 tonight, but looks like a straight swap for N381HA. 26 days on the ground

Hi All,

I'm flying QF 569 SYD - PER in July with my little family. I treated us to an award J booking and the seat map looks like a refurb. How reliable is this in anyone's experience? Am really looking forward to trying to suites and would be gutted if things changed. Thanks in advance!

That is definitely a refurb. All configs are subject to change so there are no guarantees. Hopefully you get the suites! If not you'll still get some wonderful service.

I had a flight on Dec 29, Qf762 to Per-Mel that started in the 2-2-2 configuration.
This changed to the new suites a few weeks before the flight, so I was quite pleased.
After I checked in via mobile on the day of flight this changed to a 2-3-2. Not as pleased.

But the problem is if we book now, which is what we want to do, the seat selection is in the current format.
Very confused how this will work when the flight changes to the new, fewer seat configuration, and all seats are potentially booked.
Surely this occurs now with the progressive rollout of the new configuration ?

I don't think Qantas is going to oversell the flight this far in advance. Honestly, I wouldn't be too concerned.

Looks like Hawaii bound pax have had the opportunity to try out the new suites on several recent flights on QF 3 going by www.theqantassource.com.

Only problem if reduced upgrade chances if you had such a request in as the 333 has a 28/269 config vs the 36/199 on the 332.

Those are non-refurb right? Approaching $7800 return on some days to PVG, bit disappointing. SQ F is $800 cheaper. They've lost business swapping out to non-refurbs.

Correct - non-refurb (old international configuration with Skybed Mk I seats). At least they won't be around for too much longer...

Not sure why as I'd think the load factor in Y to PVG wouod be higher than HNL right now.

They had paid J fares to HNL in March of approx AUD1,800.00 each way that was on sale last year .

The recent flights we did on QF3/QF4 were chockers in J and that was the 36/199 config.

Yes, I think this is why EBG and EBL are continuing to do the HNL run - and I wouldn't be surprised if they are the last A330s to be refurbed. A loss of eight J class seats on HNL will certainly be felt - and no, most of them are generally NOT upgrades, and certainly not awards. It's a route that sells well for QF, but the new config is just too small in J. Sadly, I think we can expect to see very few U class seats released on this route in the future. Will be interesting to see how many J seats QF puts in the new 787s.

We were fortunate to have our points upgrades come through at about T-52. Expert Flyer was showing at least 9 J seats a few days out then the day prior only 1 and I imagine there would still have been people who had points upgrade requests in that didn't get them - staff travellers would have no hope.

VH-QPJ subbed back into service for QF51 BNE-SIN today
(As per earlier reports it was sitting in BNE as a reserve before beginning refurb on 3/5)

VH-EBA back into service after a 3-wk check (was refurbed some time ago).
Yet to see if another 332 heads into maintenance

VH-QPJ continues to operate

How long will these refurbs last.Last night on QF62 the sash part of my seat belt would not retract.Leant forward and from then on the sash part would fall of my shoulder.

Just booked Honolulu for Easter 2017. Old 2x2x2 seat map. Hopefully this will change by the time Eastet 17 rocks around
