ALL QF's 330's to get lay flat Business seating - Including Domestic

A bit browsing on the Qantas official Instagram account today led me to a photo posted by a user '@racheldudok' who appears to be an aircraft maintenance engineer for Qantas up in Brisbane.

The comments from her on the photo of the Business cabin of EBG with regard to whether it is in refit "Nope. Staying the same" to another user: https://www.instagram.com/p/BKUDIbshpbF/?taken-by=racheldudok

Further down her page a picture of EBL with a question from a user similarly asking about whether the aircraft is in refurb to which she replies "all the reconfigs are done [emphasis added]. This one is a leased A332 so she is just getting a tart-up": https://www.instagram.com/p/BKC44ZvhhF5/?taken-by=racheldudok

This leads me to believe that the re-configuration program is pretty much done and dusted. Based upon the evidence that has been piling up in this thread over the past week or so, combined with these comments from somebody working at the maintenance centre in Brisbane lead me to strongly believe EBL and EBG are not being re-fitted with the suites.
another question that should be asked is - is the QF3 and QF4 going to another aircraft or staying with the unfurnished EBL & EBG

Would seem increasingly likely that HNL will go A330-300 or 787-9 once those deliveries begin next year. In the meantime they'll get the unrefurbished A330-200 which will likely be returned to the leasing company when the new aircraft are available.

although those pictures on instagram don't match the current seating of the EBL & EBG business class as the jet currently has 2 x 2 x 2

Say what.
The first pic is from the business cabin and is Skybed I in 2x2x2
The second pic is from economy and is 2x4x2
They are both definitely fro either EBG or EBL

Certainly would be useful if RedRoo could provide clarification on when/if EBG/EBL will be returbed and what routes they might be tasked to in the mean time.

:-) indeed
NRT or HND

Route got dumped in 2008, so 6yrs later.
And plenty of onward connections on GK (Jetstar Japan) or JL.

Flying SYD-SIN in J next week. Looks like there is chance I might have a Skybed if the last two a330's are not getting refurbed :/

well if you end up flying in one one them, you might be able to fill us in what they did to tart them up

No longer speculation. Announced.

Daily flight - daytime up and overnight back.
Jetstar to cease operating route from late Feb.

Now... where is the spare A330 coming from?

I would expect other Asian routes will utilize A330-200
to free up one A330-300. Given that all reconfigs are done now, this will free up 2 additional aircraft that have been unavailable since this started.

still no clearer as to what is happening with the non refurbished birds.

Consensus of opinion suggests nothing happening refurbishment wise and return them to their owners when the 787's arrive

Interetsing that they confirm using upgraded aircraft on this route so still no clearer as to what is happening with the non refurbished birds.

The bottom line is that, no matter what QF says about what aircraft will usually fly a particular route, whilst the two unrefurbed A330s remain in the fleet, it's possible they could pop up on any A330 route.
